  • Snow geese trio in Missouri.

  • This is a picture of my barn. It was late winter of 2006. The window that is covered by snow, is about 4 feet off the ground. Snow falling in icy crystals / winds roaring pushing snow dunes / swirling vortexes of wonder land delight / on the day of no sun everlasting / pushing on as minutes pass / swirling snow builds on icy glass written by my daughter Tiffany

  • part of turton at a glance series / taken Lancashire UK

  • I finally found the tractor I have been looking for. I saw this old antique from the road and thankfully had my camera in tow. I braved the 3 feet of snow and frigid Newfoundland winds but I finally got my shot I’d been waiting to get. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

  • Loch of the Lowes lies in the beautiful scottish borders between Moffat and Selkirk. It flows into nearby St Mary’s loch (with its thriving sailing club) past old Tibbieshiels inn, hostelry and overnight stop for walkers on the southern upland way crossing Scotland. Overlooking the north end of the loch is a monument to James Hogg – the Scottish Poet known as the Ettrick Shepherd, friend and contemporary of Sir Walter Scott. Taken 4/3/08 (untouched) with a pocket fuji finepix A500 (There is a 2nd loch of the lowes further north in Perthshire, complete with osprey viewing centre – but you can see the wonderful fish eagle hunting here too if you are lucky!) My first ever feature on the home page ages on 23rd April 2008 and what a party that was…LOL See also : ‘i am a rock’ and ‘LoL’ loch of the lowes

  • These are three trees, including one that looks like a Christmas tree – it’s a scene that needs snow to make it look stark and clear so that the shapes of the trunks and the spindly branches can be appreciated, especially so when it is in black and white.

  • Old barn with the American flag.

  • As the Sun Shines Through. This was taken in one of the English World War One trenches in Belgium. It’s the kind of thing many soldiers woke up to every day. This was a good sign, it means that they made it through the damp and cold miserable night. Samsung Digimax D103

  • Outside of The Mount Evans Wilderness at Echo Lake, Colorado As the title suggests, nothing but clean, fresh mountain air at an altitude of 10,600 feet high! Processed in HDR, your thought are welcomed!

  • Featured in the group Mountains and Light in November 2008 / Featured again in Mountains and Light in January 2009 Well that is what this area used to be called…the land in and around Glacier National Park. However with all the snows melting those days might be over! I was shocked to see how much of illecillewaet glacier had receded. I had climbed up to the tongue of the glacier 20 years ago and now you have to climbe hundreds more feet to reach where the tongue of the glacier is now. This is taken in the Canadian Rocky Mountains inside Glacier National Park, Alberta, Canada. / / /

  • Sunrise on a cold January (2006) morning on the Manitoba prairie. That’s snow on flat land, not a lake or sea. Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT / Film / Media: Digital / Lens: 18-55mm MY BUBBLESITE

  • This is the picture that I have waiting for. It was almost magic. It was worth the trip in cold very cold weather to get this. • This was taken at my old house, which was located on about 100 acres, and it also had a 2 km long driveway, not a lie. I was walking down it to get the mail and decided to take a shot looking back towards the barn and house. I tried a new effect on it and would love to know what you think. Thanks so much for looking and commenting. =)smile

  • spring will have to wait a bit longer … as is Fuji fd50

  • The feeling of freedom, to breathe once again and feel the wind as it sweeps across the open fields. I feel the solitude and the tranquility, lift my face and feel the purity of the air, it envelopes me stroking me and i embrace it willingly. Here i could lay me down and die in the arms of the elements all alone slipping into eternal conciousness…...........into the arms of my Beloved Maker…........... Taken just outside of Ramsey Cambridgeshire, part of the great Fens! / Canon Eos 400D

  • Nikon D70

  • The Sound of the Sun / Embrace of the Everlasting “It makes one all right, / though you hadn’t thought of it, / A sound like the sound of the sky on fire, / like Armageddon, / Whistling and crackling, the explosions of sunlight booming / As the huge mass of gas rages into the emptiness around it. It isn’t a sound you are often aware of, / though the light speeds / To us in seconds, / each dawn leaping easily across a chasm / Of space that swallows the sound of that sphere, / but If you listen closely some morning, when the sun swells Over the horizon and the world is stil / and still asleep, / You might hear it, / a faint noise so far inside your mind / That it must come from somewhere, / from light rushing to darkness, / Energy burning towards entropy, / towards a peaceful solution, / Burning brilliantly, spontaneously, in the middle of nowhere, And you, too, must make a sound that is somewhat like it, Though that, of course, you have no way of hearing at all.” ~ The Sound of the Sun by George Bradley Sun Pillar / Sunset near Chena River Lakes Recreational Park / Wilderness of North Pole Alaska / From my collection: / Emerquinox Spirit of Alaska / Emerquinox is a word I coined when I combined the words Emerge and Equinox. • The winter solstice approaches. Since summer, the rays of light have become ever more indirect. For most people in the high latitudes the winter solstice is commonly known as the shortest day. At the Arctic Circle the sun does not rise at all on this day. Next week, however, (for us, Dec. 21) we will begin to gain light in tiny increments at first, and then in whopping five-minute chunks a day. Nikon D70, Nikkor 18-70mm lens / raw
