This is a photograph of the City of Kelowna taken from the mountainside up near Crawford Estates where I lived as a teen on what was then a ranch. The area is now subdivided and full of houses with more being built all the time. Even though the Okanogan Mountain Park fire destroyed a lot of the homes in this area, more and more people are moving in, and there are new subdivisions popping up all along the mountainside. Photo taken Mar.3/2008. As you may notice there is a fair bit of smoke in the air as this is the time of year when there is a lot of slash burning going on in the mountains.
