The lagoon was of course not blue. the blue of the sky is false colour obtained from the exchange of the red and blue channels of an infrared picture. The photo was taken in Geelong at the Aboriginal Craft & Cultural Interpretation Centre – Narana Creations. They have a beautiful walk and lots of artwork to buy. It’s a great chance to learn a little more about Australia’s real history. If it sounds like a plug then I guess it is although only by someone who’s been there once and was very impressed. It’s my first infrared lake so I’m happy with the results.

My first ever post to redbubble!! A really lucky capture of Loch Voil near Balquidder (Rob Roy country) in Scotland. UNTOUCHED PICTURE / I went to the lake very early in the morning ,it was pretty cold but it was worth it ,it looks like the trees were in fire.Oh! I can still remember my very first camera that my parents had given to me when I was about 8 years old. I took that camera everywhere and snapped shots of anything and everything, however it wasn’t until much later in life that I was really bitten by the photography bug. I was planning a big move to the Canadian Rockies and thought now is the perfect time to buy my new camera gear for shooting wildlife. I bought all the equipment I needed that would put me up close with all the wildlife that the mountains had to offer. So off I went chasing Bears, Bighorn sheep, Moose, Elk and Wolves… pretty much any critter I could capture with my lens. It was a fascinating and thrilling experience. Then fate brought to me a girl and she would change my life forever… Newfoundland is where I now call home, with my beautiful wife and baby son. This province is a photographer’s paradise. The scenes change from day to day and the opportunities for capturing them are endless. Background Information: / Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometres outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 6183 feet (1884 m). The lake has a surface area of 0.5 km². The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until mid to late June. However, when it is full, it is a beautiful shade of blue. The lake gets its color from the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis. In life as well as fishing it’s all about the journey! / As the sunrise burned through the fog early Sunday morning, on Clear Lake near Hunstville, Ontario, two fishermen enthusiastically set out for their favourite fishing spot… / This shot was as a result of an early morning walk in / August 2008 in the fog: part planning, part serendipity. This is an old infrared shot. I’ve been doing lots of portraits lately and haven’t had the opportunity to shoot much infrared . I found this one on the hard drive and had a little play with it. It was taken at a place called Little Pelican, down near Swansea. It’s part of Lake Macquarie.

Well at least it would be if I had my way, living in Glenmaggie and just spending the majority of my time photographing its beauty. But anyway, yes it was shot at Lake Glenmaggie, Victoria. Shot with a Nikon D200, 12-24mm lens at 15mm, F/11, 100 ISO. 4 shot HDR, merged/mapped in Photomatix, touched up in Photoshop.
