I still have to look so carefully to work out just where the wooden fenceposts stop and the reflections begin… This fencing goes out into the beautiful St Mary’s loch in the scottish borders to mark the boundaries of the thriving sailing club there and to keep the sheep safely in the adjoining fields The loch is three miles long by half a mile wide, set in spectacular surroundings in the middle of the Southern Uplands about 50 miles south of Edinburgh. To preserve the peace and tranquility, only sailing boats use it, apart from the a few small fishing craft and the club rescue boats. / / It is much bigger and deeper than the nearby loch of the lowes Taken 27/4/08 (untouched) / / ps warning to sheep :please don’t try this at home…wet wool weighs! / ; ) / / See also stones in the water / / / / and / under the wire /

Yesterday we had our lunch by the lake, then walked along the shore talking to the ducks and just breathing in the beautiful fall day….as we walked back toward the car, I just happened to turn around and there, in the water, was a little herd of elk…...they were crossing the lake, bulls rounding up their ladies, young ones trailing along…..we watched them in the water and on the land for over an hour, fascinated by their beauty and entertained by their interaction…...I hope you enjoy these shots…. Lake Estes, Estes Park, Colorado.

This was taken in the summer of 2007 at a favorite spot of mine at Jones Valley on Shasta Lake, CA, about 16 miles north east of Redding, CA….It was a perfect day and the light was very cooperative with me and my camera…..this has become one of my favorite places to just kick back and relax….and the fishing is not bad, an added plus. Common species most often caught here are Bass, Crappie, and Trout. It is also well known for camping, hiking and boating. / __ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission.
