What you see is what you get. Submitting to the As Is group. Poyner’s Creek…Untouched by humans or any editing. This is one of the first shots I took w/ my new to me nikon D50. And this is a second from the same shoot with some edits.

One must suffer for your art correct? Well this might fit, I headed out this cold December dawn a year ago with temps at -5 and windchill at -30. A bit chilly and I learned that if you take a glove and grab a metal tripod leg your hand will stick at least for a few moments. I hope the image was worth it! The frozen surface of Mud Lake just after dawn one cold winter morning. The long shadows of the tree stumps making eerie lines across the ice and skiff of snow on top.

In life as well as fishing it’s all about the journey! / As the sunrise burned through the fog early Sunday morning, on Clear Lake near Hunstville, Ontario, two fishermen enthusiastically set out for their favourite fishing spot… / This shot was as a result of an early morning walk in / August 2008 in the fog: part planning, part serendipity. To catch the sun rising over the mountain requires a 3AM wakeup call 2 hour drive and a short 1 mile hike to waters edge. In my book worth it! Dawn illuminates the cloud-capped peak of Mt. Rainier as it reflects in the the still waters of Bench Lake

Well at least it would be if I had my way, living in Glenmaggie and just spending the majority of my time photographing its beauty. But anyway, yes it was shot at Lake Glenmaggie, Victoria. Shot with a Nikon D200, 12-24mm lens at 15mm, F/11, 100 ISO. 4 shot HDR, merged/mapped in Photomatix, touched up in Photoshop. A beautiful morning unfortunatly due to a dead battery in my landrover and our other car having all its locks frozen I missed most of it and only manged a couple of images. As the morning colour was allready fading fast when I arrived at this location.

While on a weekends hiking up in the Blue Mountains, I enjoyed a gorgeous tranquil sunrise over one of the lovely lakes up there. Not another soul around. Lovely delicate colours in the sky, and a very still tranquil lake. What a great way to start the day. I hope you enjoy this.
