Hiking down Havasu Creek.
This is an IR shot taken at my favourite location on the Hunter River in Hexam, Newcastle, NSW, Oz.
Back to IR today …. different location and a different atmosphere. Hope you like it. / / / / / / / /

Captured in the early morning light in the autumn at Sunset Lake, NC /
This was taken at Swansea, Newcastle NSW, Australia. The water around this place is absolutley amazing – the most beautiful blues I have ever seen…unfortunately not so good for capturing in IR…but I managed to get the sky to turn out like the colour of the water. Honestly, that’s the colour of the water. / / / / / / / / / / /
One must suffer for your art correct? Well this might fit, I headed out this cold December dawn a year ago with temps at -5 and windchill at -30. A bit chilly and I learned that if you take a glove and grab a metal tripod leg your hand will stick at least for a few moments. I hope the image was worth it! The frozen surface of Mud Lake just after dawn one cold winter morning. The long shadows of the tree stumps making eerie lines across the ice and skiff of snow on top.
12” x 16” watercolor. Original painting has been sold. / Birch trees casting shadows near Rossport , Ontario, on the north shore of Lake Superior.
Storms are intense…sometimes they are dark gloomy and ugly… but this picture suggests otherwise.

I saw some pictures of these boats on another site and I had to go there to capture them in infrared. It was well worth the hour long drive.
Little Boat watches as the Moon rises over the beautiful lake, as the waning sunset starts to disappear, and the gull flies to his roost for the night..;-)

Acrylic painting. This painting was inspired by the lake that we visit in Northern California. The trees are so thick and there are layers and layers. I would love to work on more like this and get a better feel for the trees, but for now I enjoyed finding a way to show the beautiful pines as the caught a Moment of Sun. / / /

I return to this exact spot a lot. I have to say it is one of my favorite places to take photographs. This canyon is one of nature’s great cathedrals. It’s hard to explain the feeling that comes over you when you are standing there staring out across the water…Especially during this time of year, when there is nobody else out there. You can have the whole place to yourself, or share it with someone special.
