  • An orange sky and lake . . .

  • Beautiful view of Interlaken lake, Switzerland.

  • The snowy peak of Quisiquisini and Lake Chungara from around 14,000 feet (4300 metres) in the Lauca National Park, northern Chile.

  • As I wandered about to take different angles of the scenic views that surrounded me, the lighting was ever changing. At times the sun was out in full force, unobscured by the drifting clouds and other times the sun was softened behind the white puffy drifting summer clouds. NOTE; I’m not sure exactly how high we actually climbed, but I believe Hairtrigger Lake to be 1200 m high. We climbed upwards for 3hrs, 20 min, until we reached the lake. We probably spent half an hours worth in taking a few quick shots along the way and re- hydrating ourselves. Lots of water is a must, especially on a warm summers day!

  • After driving up through the mountains of Killarney, this wonderful view (Ladies View) can be seen looking down into the valley where some of the lakes can be seen nestled in amongst the mountains. Once part of the enormous Herbert estate at Muckross, the road to this scenic vista was improved in honor of Queen Victoria’s visit in 1861. The panorama inspired such awe and gasps of admiration from the Queen’s ladies in waiting that it was dubbed “Ladies’ View.” From this point, the Upper Lake, Middle Lake, Black Valley, MacGillycuddy Reeks, and Gap of Dunloe are clearly visible. http://www.redbubble.com/products/configure/6554993

  • Shot at Tarn Hows in the English lake district national park Cumbria. / Shot with a Nikon D300 and Sigma 10-20mm lens at 20mm focal length / Single RAW shot HDRd and tonemapped with Photomatix and tidied up in photoshop. / It is far from evident these days, but Tarn Hows was originally created to supply water to a saw mill in Yewdale, its overflow spilling in dashing style down the ravine of Tom Gill. Later, it was owned by Mrs William Heelis, better known as Beatrix Potter, who sold half to the National Trust for what it cost to buy, and bequeathed the remainder. /

  • Swiss / Nikon D60 / HDR image from a single RAW image(-1,0,+1) using Photomatix Pro 3 Lake Thun (German: Thunersee) is an Alpine lake in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland. It took its name from the city of Thun, on its northern shore. / Lake Thun’s approximately 2,500 km² large catchment area frequently causes local flooding after heavy rainfalls. This occurs because the river Aar (German: Aare), which drains Lake Thun, has only limited capacity to handle the excess runoff. / The lake is fed by water from Lake Brienz to the south east, which lies 6 metres higher than Lake Thun and various streams in the Oberland, including the Kander. Lake Thun was created after the last ice age and was originally part of Lake Brienz. The historic combined lake is called Wendelsee by geologists and historians.

  • Wawatam Lighthouse at the entrance to the Marina in St. Ignace in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It stands at the end of an old railroad dock which was once used to load railroad cars onto a ferry to transport them between the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of Michigan. The city of St. Ignace has renamed he lighthouse after the 338-foot Chief Wawatam rail car ferry. It rises 52 feet in the air at the end of a newly constructed Huron Boardwalk and serves as a sentinel to the city’s marina. The beacon projects 13.2 miles over Lake Huron and will serve as a navigational aid to boaters. This lighthouse was acquired from the Monroe Michigan Welcome Center in 2004, was moved to St. Ignace in five sections, and went operational on August 20th, 2006.

  • Just a simple shot, taken on a very hot evening at Redhead Beach in NSW Australia. Redhead is in the City of Lake Macquarie between Dudley and Belmont. Bounded on the northern end by a huge cliff face, the beach runs on for what seems forever until it reaches the Swansea breakwall and the channel entrance to beautiful Lake Macquarie. Always a pretty spot, always popular with surfers and families and always providing plenty for the avid photographer. Redhead Beach is best known for its iconic timber surf watchtower that sits atop a huge rock in the middle of the beach … stay tuned for photos of this real soon. /
