On this bridge as a boy scout I saw a ghost, from then it became special, almost ethereal in my eyes. The sight of such an unexplained event inspires and triggers the imagination of a young boy to life. I still look at this bridge and wonder which realm the spirit came from and what secrets are held in every arch and brick of this unique structure. In the soft early morning light, the reflections shimmer on the water like ripples through time, stirring the souls of those who have passed over the bridge, and passed across dimensions. This is not just a bridge over a piece of water it is a bridge which spans time, space and maybe spirituality, to me it is the bridge of faith and belief, a bridge of discovery and imagination, a bridge of light and life, a true contender for the most beautiful bridge in the world. To me it is already a winner, it moved and inspired me it helped to make me what I am today, what I believe and what I feel. Alance Bridge this is my entry as the most Beautiful Bridge in the world.

This image was taken at the Peak of fall late september 2008 at Plum Orchard Lake. The lake is nestled between Haystack and Packs mountains on Plum Orchard Creek. These mountains rise 700 to 900 feet above the lake (elevation 1,765). Lake Mackintosh is a Hydro Tasmania lake near Tullah in Tasmania’s west. Tullah is a former mining town, An hour’s drive north of Strahan (80 kilometres/50 miles) and ninety minutes south of Burnie (110 kilometres/68 miles). / Like all Hydro Tasmania lakes, Lake Mackintosh is stocked with plump trout. You can launch your boat at a number of boat ramps on the Lake and spend the day fishing, or enjoy a picnic or barbecue on the shore. / Literally surrounded by lakes, Tullah is a haven for boating and fishing enthusiasts. You can enjoy a number of walks in the area, including the challenging bushwalk to the summit of Mt Farrell which is rewarded with stunning views. / And on a ‘Good Day’ the reflections have to be seen to be believed!

Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, shutter speed 1/15 second, ISO100, processed in Photoshop I went to Brotherswater area of the Lake District on Saturday with a few friends. On the other side of kirkstone pass it was clear blue skies, this side was grey and overcast, lets call it moody…lol!!!
