Rocks that can be found around Lake Superior. Some of the depressed areas have collected water and formed a river. There is a mist rising. This is in Grand Marais, Minnesota. This is an area of Grand Marais called “Artists Point”. Artists Point is a nature area. There are walking trails near the lake. There are also rocks one can walk around on. This was a rainy, chilly spring morning.
A green and white beacon that stands at the end of a rocky pier. It is a guide for ships. This structure is located in the small town of Grand Marais, Minnesota. To get to the beacon, you have to climb over rocks in order to get to the walkway shown in the photo.

The evening monsoon shower over Phnom Penh’s main lake created the dark and almost sinister image you can see here.
A shallow, stream fed tarn at Victoria’s Mt Baw Baw struggles to ice over in the rain (you can see the rain if you look hard in the shot). There is nothing like kneeling in icy slush in the rain to give you a real feel of the mood of an image when you’re taking it. ;)

... Mendenhall Glacier, about 19 km from downtown Juneau, Alaska, is the most famous of the glaciers in the Juneau Ice Field. / ... this scene was shot from the hiking trail around the glacier on a rainy overcast day in mid-summer.
Rainy day in Bayview, Idaho. Row of floathouses in the bay. These houses are actually floating, on large logs and flotation tanks. They are moored at the docks around the bay in Bayview. Some are even three stories tall and most of them have boat garages around back. By the way, this is the best place in the world to watch 4th of July fireworks, out over the water in the bay.

When my daughter bought her new DSLR, my husband, daughter, and I decided to take a trip up to Edgewater State Park on Lake Erie. It was a beautiful evening despite the rainstorm brewing out over the lake. Here, you can see some of the various cloud formations as the sun started to set.
Pukaskwa National Park on Lake Superior – colours are just exactly as it was / rain just at sunset and a pink hue in the sky
