  • A frosty morning on the road to Milford Sound, New Zealand

  • The dry parched lake bed of Lake Modewarre lays in wait and hope of refreshing and as the dark stormy rain clouds skirt around the edge and away into the distance, reflecting the sunset colours as they go.

  • I went out to the lake again and did another shoot. I hope you like what i did. :)

  • Better viewed large :)

  • This was taken on one of the few days that the lake was at peace with itself / and the ride was calm on the lake….....rain shower out over the lake with the sunset shining on it – photo is shown just as it was…

  • A long exposure photo taken at lake CY O’Connor. The moon was also up at the time this photo was taken. Shot with my 5DMkII 24-105 f/4 IS L Lens at 24mm ISO 100, 10 minute exposure. Featured In: 5D Mark II, After Dark.

  • Late summer in Nordland. Weather and light changes quickly. / Canon 400 D , ISO 100, Av 14

  • A November evening at Rose Valley Lake in central Pennsylvania. A light drizzle was punctuated by a very welcome short burst of sunshine. The dampness intensified the bold autumn colors that were just at their peak. The short burst of sunlight brought the entire scene to life! This photo was captured with a Canon EOS 10D using a Canon EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4L Professional lens, zoomed to 70mm. Shutter speed was 1/30th sec. @ f/13. The ISO was set to 400. A Manfrotto tripod was used. Your comments are always welcome! © 2009 Gene Walls All copyright and reproduction rights are retained by the artist. • Between Lake Windermere and Ullswater one of the routes you can take is over the Kirkstone Pass. In the valleys, I can assure you it was spring; up at the summit, it was still winter, with the clouds covering the peaks and wind and rain lashing the rocks and grass. I shot this image from inside the car – the wind making it almost impossible to set up a tripod – and an umbrella useless for protecting my camera from the wet. This view looks down towards the Ullswater valley. The distant, barely visible expanse of water is the small lake Brothers Water. Canon 10D / 1/160th sec at f 7.1 / 35 – 135mm Canon lens at 35mm (56mm equivalent) / ISO 100

  • Start of rain on Lac Vert in the Alps, in July 2007. / Max available size: 80×53cm

  • Looking out over Ullswater in the Lake District in the United Kingdom.

  • I was out storm chasing again last night, But missed the lightning show. I didn’t want the night to be a complete waste of time, So I decided to do a mini night shoot despite the rain and strong winds. Once again, I returned home soaked. LOL I managed to get a few shots at Burswood Casino last night after my South Perth shoot got rained out. I didn’t spend much time here either because of the rain, And police patrol that stopped to see what I was up to just after I finished this panorama series. After that, I decided to pack up and head home, And just as I got back to the car, It started to hail. EOS 500D.

  • Lightning thunderstom 06.15.09. Many lightning strikes on McIntosh Lake. Boulder County, Colorado. Striking Photography by Bo Insogna www.TheLightningMan.com

  • Ever-changing light show on the lake Kivesjarvi, Finland, during a brief summer storm.

  • A picture taken at the Alfred Nicholas Gardens in the Dandenongs about 1 minute before the skys opened up and had me sheltering under the eave of the Shed for the next 10 minutes in a Hail Storm! Taken with a Canon 500D EOS

  • On the road which runs alongside Derwent Water in the Northern Lake District.

  • A quiet longish exposure on a glaciar lake, as a cold storm was forming above.
