Soft and dangerous, lovely little isolated thunderstorm with a still full lake Burrembeet in the foreground.

This shot was taken at the Broadmoor resort in Colorado Springs, CO. The most amazing electrical storm came through. It was quite a ways in the distance. The cloud coverage was interesting which sat low over our heads. Lightning flashed about every three seconds. It was truly spectacular. It never rained where I was standing. Noise Reduction software applied due to the high ISO setting. I put the camera on a tripod and kept clicking. The pool house was in the foreground and Cheyenne Mountain in the background.

I took this photo of a lilly and realised, as nice as it was, it was just like the 1001 other lilly photos out there, so I decided to try something a little different… hope u like it! Enjoy! _

What a wonderful place to get my head back on straight. This is Rose Valley Lake in north central Pennsylvania, taken at the peak of fall’s natural color display. This photo was taken just before sunset with a Canon EOS 10D with a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L telephoto zoom lens @ 200mm. The shutter speed was 1/20th sec at f/13. The camera’s ISO was set to 200. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release. Your comments are always welcome! Scanned slide. Camped on Tuross Lake the weather closed in and it started to rain…. These two had just met and were so engrossed in their newfound friendship they insisted on continuing with their walk… chatting… typical girls!
Keep a red heart of memories / Under the great gray rain sheds of the sky, / Under the open sun and the yellow gloaming embers. / Remember all paydays of lilacs and songbirds; / All starlights of cool memories on storm paths. Yesterday and to-morrow cross and mix on the skyline / The two are lost in a purple haze. One forgets. One waits. Why is my love always a crying thing of wings? Carl Sandburg
The view to march wood in a torrential downpour one August evening at St Mary’s Loch in the lovely scottish borders. The orange mark known simply as ‘L’ and used for the sailing clubs weekly dinghy races has never looked cleaner… The southern upland way a longdistance walk from coast to coast across scotland follows the shoreline to Tibbies Shiels Inn at the end of the 2 mile long loch… Thanks so much for looking / cheers / :))) Nikon D60 / Nikkor VR 18-200 / UV filter / f/5.6 / 1/100sec / ISO-400 / exp -0.3 / 200mm

It’s been an epic journey to get this on to redbubble! I mean how hard can it be to take a photo… well… first there’s suitable light, then there’s the question of getting the colours to look like the actual painting….. So… it’s not perfect, but it’s pretty close now… but… then there’s actually uploading it! I’ve been trying all afternoon… so if it works this time I’m having a celebratory glass of wine… lol!!! Anyway, this is a painting taken from a photo taken around the same time as “two little girls… tuross lakes”. When we camped there that Easter there was a lot of rain and storms… pretty much every afternoon. So this is just another one of them… For those who are interested… Tuross Lakes is situated on the South Coast of NSW. Just realised that I haven’t put in the technical info… so here it is for those interested… Oil on canvas / 61cm x 91cm Plus I’d like to thank you for viewing as the thumbnail doesn’t really show it very well… : )) Featured in the Landscape Painting group

Grand Lake, Algonquin Park Ontario, CANADA / September 26th 2009 / Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens / The Orton Effect If I could paint I think I would like to work on impressionistic landscapes like this. A mixture of fall color, rain and fog. There is something mystical and magical about nature under these circumstances, and the soft gentle rain which brings out all the colors and softens all the edges.
