Ha ha! I did this piece for an arts fund-raiser in our town. It includes our local wine making industry along with our school mascot, the mountain goat, which are plentiful uplake on beautiful Lake Chelan. It went for more than it should have. I’m sure someone took pity on me and my attempt.
Sunny day over New Zealand’s Lake Wakatipu, just south of Queenstown. Reflective water and mountains in the background.
We were told of a great massacre here after the Tuwharetoa people had hidden the great chief Te Rauparaha from his enemies, and later boasted. He also gave these people the haka which he composed whilst waiting to see whether he would live or die whilst hidden. His enemies returned to this site and killed all because they had hidden Te Rauparaha Mount Ruapehu in the background / North Island, New Zealand Voigtlander Bessa R3a Rangefinder / Fuji Superia negative film iso 400

An autumn mountain vista in Waterton National Park, Alberta
Taken in the Cradle Mountain N. P. in Tasmania. Went here to photgraph Cradle Mountain but the weather made that impossible (its hiding in the low clouds),however I think this fleeting rainbow made up for it to a degree. This was the only shot of the rainbow that was not spoiled by rain drops all over the lens!- / Nikon D300, Nikkor 18-135mm lens.
Drove down to the lake this morning hoping to get something decent. I ended up using my Hoya NDX400 filter and using a long exposure to smooth the water a bit. (it looked horrid otherwise)
My favourite tarn in The Lake District, a short walk up from Grasmere.
Photograph was taken at the far end of Lake Bohinj which is in Slovenia. The lake is great for canoeing and swimming. The water can sometimes be a bit cold, especially in spring and early summer as the lake freezes over in winter it takes a while for it to warm up.

The air is so clear at Lake Tekapo that scientists have built an observatory on the hill behind the town. How dry the landscape is in summer but what a palette of colour!
