Dancing Dragon in Chinese New Year’s parade
I took this shot on Bell Island, if you look closely at the base of the cliff you can see a natural tunnel that has been bored through the rock by the water and out to the other side. The bravest and most daring of kayakers venture into these tunnels to explore. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / /

Beyond the vast wastelands of Nimrods Lair / A journey which we all must take / Lies an oasis shore, distant and beautiful / Where desires unfold into a million / Scattered fragments of brilliant cascading stars. Come hither then with me vain love / To where our hearts will never more / Be apart, as now they wander far and wide. / Let us drink in glimpses of our souls / Unfathomable wishes of eternity. Star of the Sea by Karin Taylor is a card taken from an original painting on canvas textured paper using mixed media, ink, pastel, acrylic and charcoal. From the Beach Series Here we have a spunky mermaid with a guitar slung over her back, lazing about on the deck of her timber boat…....taking some time off on this occasion, from luring sailors and ships to her watery lair…... there is something of the Madonna about her… hence the name ‘Star of the Sea’
It’s been awhile since I have put anything up, don’t know if I like this one or not so I will let you all be judge and jury. :-) Thank you for viewing my work. Image copyright © 2008, Larry Fridel. ‘Kurdimurka’ (local Aboriginal Australian folklore) – a spiritual snake which coils itself around Lake Eyre, South Australia. The local Aborigines believe that entering Lake Eyre will disturb the snake and lead to unfortunate consequences. Curdimurka, South Australia is situated along the Old Ghan Track near Lake Eyre. Long ago abandoned, these days it is the site of the annual Curdimurka Ball. /
Inside the “Riddling Hall” at Domaine Chandon, Yarra Valley – Vic. / Riddling is the method used by hand to rotate each sparkling wine bottle – a quater turn at a time – to gradually slide the yeast lees (decomposing yeast cells) into the bottle neck, ready to be disgorged, dosaged & sealed with either a traditional cork or the modern equivalent – a crown seal. The job is called riddling and the person who does the job is “The Riddler”. Insert Batman jokes here ….. DOMAINE CHANDON is open daily for wine tastings, and guided tours are conducted three times per day at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. Do yourself a favour and try their Sparkling Pinot Noir Shiraz! FEATURED IN THE CANON DSLR GROUP November ‘08. / Shot with a Canon 400D w/ 17-85 IS Canon lens.

I saw this old tower standing in the middle of the endless polders from miles away. It looks very mysterious in this delapitated state. especialy the carved heads near the roof make it look rather creepy. It used to be an old windmill, puming water out of the low lying polders into the nearby canal.
As the storms roll in across the sky, the dragon retreats to his cave, high in the mountains. Rain pours from the sky, filling his footsteps. Frozen in time, these prehistoric rock pools are his legacy to modern man… —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / If you would like to purchase any of my art in a larger format, please contact me. Featured in Maryland August 24, 2009. Best Viewed Full Size This is the turret of the original school building of the Glenelg Country School, located in Howard County, Maryland. The title “Dragon’s Lair” comes from the school’s mascot, the dragon. Of course now Glenelg boasts beautiful modern facilities, but somehow all the structures have been done in keeping with the atmosphere of the glorious old home you see here which housed the first classrooms over half a century ago. A wonderful, nurturing but tough academic climate, small classroom sizes, outstanding faculty and staff. And the campus itself, as you can see, is a thing of beauty!! Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens on July 26, 2009. Shutter 1/200, aperture f/7.1, exp. 0.00, iso 400. Post processing included HDR in Photomatix from a single hand-held image duplicated to evals of +/- 2, and the addition of a texture layer, blended in Photoshop. texture courtesy of Ghostbones on Flickr
Something wicked that way came.
Inspired by the wonderful story “Snow White” / I kinda of made this dark and spooky as if she had turned to a more evil and grungy version of Snow white instead of the one we all know and love ;) http://piratequeen-stock.deviantart.com/ – Model / http://freaky665.deviantart.com – Background Hope you like it! views: 210 / favs: 9 My origami calendar The Loch Ness monster is one of the most famous examples of cryptozoology and has been affectionately referred to by the nickname Nessie Source: Wikipedia So back when I was doing my internship in London, that mobii decided to throw another challenge at me despite that I was busy and didn’t have time :P I also couldn’t come up with a clever idea for a long time; I don’t simply like to fold something small and snap a photo of it; I like to create a scenario. Last night in my sleep an idea occured to me and today I did some experiments with glass bottles and flashlights to create some watery effects. I was afraid I would have trouble with this as a standard camera is typically no good under dim light; but I actually didn’t spend too much time on this; and it was rather fun. Perhaps not the most dramatic but I can’t help it because I don’t have a good camera and my “studio” is very small :o) / / For me it’s more about the origami and the concept anyways. / / Nessie was folded from a 6×6mm piece of paper. This photo was taken with an Olympus FE-340, Septembre 21, 2009 – super macro mode; untouched. For a better idea of scale: / And the messy Nessie set-up: / This work has been feature in: Alphabet Soup / Alternative Process and Experimantal Photography
