“Art Inspired by Song” / The Girl from Ipanema – Antonio Carlos Jobim,Frank Sinatra / Lyrics: Tall and tan and young and lovely / The girl from ipanema goes walking / And when she passes, each one she passes goes – ah When she walks, shes like a samba / That swings so cool and sways so gentle / That when she passes, each one she passes goes – ooh (ooh) but I watch her so sadly / How can I tell her I love her / Yes I would give my heart gladly / But each day, when she walks to the sea / She looks straight ahead, not at me Tall, (and) tan, (and) young, (and) lovely / The girl from ipanema goes walking / And when she passes, I smile – but she doesnt see (doesnt see) / (she just doesnt see, she never sees me,...) / T_SHIRT / / FROM MUSIC SERIES / MODERN TIMES / / / PLAY MY MUSIC / / / ALWAYS MY MUSIC!! / / / DO YOU HEAR ME? / / / DANCE /

Bacchus (Roman Myth names), the god of wine, was the son of Jupiter and Semele. Dionysus (Greek Myth names), the god of wine, was the son of Zeus and Semele. He represents not only the intoxicating power of wine, but its social and beneficent influences likewise, so that he is viewed as the promoter of civilization, and a lawgiver and lover of peace. / T_SHIRT / ALSO AVAILABLE / AKINOLAUDE /

I deserve nearly none of the credit for this gorgeous piece, as it was composed and rendered entirely by the amazing Julie Langford. The portrait is my shot (yes, it’s a photo of me, sorry! The original is here.) and the tiger is my shot, but everything else was done by Julie. She composed this as part of her ongoing series that began with Lady of the Forest. What I like so much about this series is that it reminds us of a simpler time when we humans were one with nature instead of separate from it. It seems that at some point we decided that we were not a part of the natural world and that we instead had dominion over it. And our ruling over nature hasn’t been a kind one. We have quite frankly been tyrant despots having driven species to extinction, destroyed ecosystems, polluted the air and the water, and more… We have not only done damage to the planet, but I think we have damaged ourselves in the process. We lost something very special and fundamental when we lost that connection with the natural world. But all isn’t lost… we can have that connection back if we are willing to apologize to nature and her creatures and extend the warm hands of friendship and respect instead of the heavy hands of dominance and rule. Just my thoughts. :) Julie and I will donate all proceeds from the sale of this artwork to Big Cat Rescue.

The Peacock and the Hedgehog Second in the series of collaborations I am creating with the very beautiful and talented kcranmer The lady is a self portrait by Kellie [beautiful] and the rest of the image was composed using a mixture of photographs taken at the National Botanical Garden of Wales by myself, and some stock photographs from sxc.hu. Special thanks to the stock photographers for their stunning images. If you have never been to sxc.hu, I recommend a look – their work is outstanding Peacock by Maplerose / Hedgehog by Impub / Forest [partial] by Mailsparky

Check out my autumn poems / Heaven’s Champagne / Dying Colours / Contemplating Grapes / Ode To Autumn Check out my autumn art A rather unconventional colour for autumn, but I like it just the same. In case it has gone unnoticed, I absolutely love this particular Photoshop leaf brush. The background is an old painting that was once simply called All The Colours of The Rain
