Painted Lady Butterfly The butterfly has four wings – two hindwings and two forewings – that are symmetrical in pattern and shape. The upper surface of Painted Lady Butterfly wings is mostly black, brown, and orange. There are also some white spots and red and blue markings. The underside of the wings are gray, with white and red markings. Butterflies have three pair of legs – each divided into five parts. At the end of the legs are tiny spurs that help them land and stay on plants or perches.

I’ve realized I probably shouldn’t listen to Kate Miller-Heidke as it takes my mind to very bizarre places. It was during one of this “trips” that I came up with this little character. Originally she was meant to look quite sad but she came out rather… well lonely, either way I think she looks cute with her purple ribbon. I am also working on a painting with her but for now she makes quite a nice little shirt guardian.
