  • Photo taken in Vermont in a local forest area. June 10, 2009. The Pink Lady Slipper, or Moccasin Flower, is a wild, rare and endangered orchid that blooms in Spring. Usually the first week of June these can be found in certain locations in the wild. This photo was taken in a pine forest area in Vermont. “Take only pictures, leave only footprints” – (unknown to me at the moment whose statement that is, if anyone knows the direct source, please let me know). / / “Cypripedium acaule is a member of the orchid genus Cypripedium. Members of this genus are commonly referred to as lady’s slipper orchids. First described in 1700, Cypripedium acaule is commonly referred to as the Pink Lady’s Slipper.[2] The Pink Lady’s Slipper is the provincial flower of Prince Edward Island, Canada, and in Nova Scotia, Canada it is considered endangered and is protected by law. If the plant’s blossom does not cycle through, it will not regenerate; for this reason, it is recommended that the flower not be picked. An alba variety exists which has a white lip instead of a pink one.” This information was taken directly from “Cypripedium acaule” found in Wikipedia online. Canon DSLR

  • / / / original pencil drawing ...stayed up very late drawing “Nature’s Child”... you know when it’s time for a baby to be born, i think it’s very similar with art… the inspiration just comes when it’s ready…and sometimes that means drawing til 3am like i did with this one. ...the drawing took about 3 hours, and the digital colouring took about 5 hours today. ...inspired by some fantastic eyes i’ve seen lately, (drawn by people on RB) and the dear little willy wagtails…they are so cheeky…they aren’t authentic in colour here, because they are always black and white with little markings above the eye…but i have put their essence into the work hopefully. I think this is my favourite so far :) /

  • My feelings for you shame me into silence. The truth of this and your name will never be revealed. It is you who has made me realize the failure of my life. The thought of you fills me with longing and at the same time, a burning humiliation that produces scar tissue and dead brain cells. Your existence mocks me and I am unable to confront this. You have no idea of any of this. None of this is your fault. It is completely with me. It is you who makes me see what I really am. I am weak and out of touch with myself.” Henry Rollins Digital painting and blending . fractals, and colors. Vintage woman from Karens whimsys
