  • Firewood for tonight
    by Paul Grinzi

    US$4.48–US$102.60

Firewood for tonight by flyingdocphotos. / Village woman from Bromo, East Java Indonesia. This image was taken in a small village on the outskirts of the Bromo caldera volcanic region of eastern Java, Indonesia. I was playing around with my 100mm macro lens, capturing some spider pictures then this lady appeared down the trail, emerging from the fog. I stood at the side of the road, smilied and raised my camera as she drew close. As she saw me, she smiled, nodded back, posed and I took a snap. Then (I think she thought I was going to take only one photo) she started walking along again, focusing on the uphill path in front of her – and that’s when I clicked my shutter again, capturing this image.

  • Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery The Penitentiary – Port Arthur As Is – Straight from the Camera Easily the most imposing ruin on the site, the Penitentiary began its life in 1843 as a flour mill and granary. In 1857 it was converted into a penitentiary capable of housing over 480 convicts in both dormitory-style accommodation and separate apartments. Also containing a messroom, library and Catholic chapel, the penitentiary was flanked by the Watchmens’ Quarters, as well as a range of workshops and an ablutions complex. Gutted in the 1897 fires, the building lay derelict until a concerted conservation program began in the 1960s. Port Arthur, Tasmania, Australia.
