Cropped this picture (yes, it’s a photograph) out of a larger one that didn’t work for me. Thought this wine label looked interesting though.
For a design project I had to go to the pharmacy museum at my school – these are old pharmacy labels
Faux label design of a strange oddity.
acrylic on paper – 10X14 This piece was inspired by a fire my middle son and I made near the ocean b/c the lighthouse park was closed. So i had promised we could cook out at night by the ocean. we did. And i said ‘It’s time to P&SS on the fire’ some kind of stupid expression and i turn around and see smoke coming up from the fire area and there he was – going on the fire. / Guess we have to watch how literal our expressions are around kids… / It was a pretty night, though..
This also ended up on a Jones Soda label. http://flickr.com/photos/gfrphoto/2067186961/
/ The Loar According To Derrington Gallery This magnificent mandolin was signed by, in my honest opinion, the most influential mandolin maker of our era. Sadly Charlie is not with us now, but he left us a legacy of some of the best mandolins ever made. For those who are not aware of mandolins. In the early part of the 20th century an acoustic engineer named Lloyd Loar joined Gibson, yes the same Gibson that makes some of the best electric guitars, banjos, resophonic guitars (dobro guitars). Lloyd Loar perfected what Orville Gibson started with taking the European round-backed mandolin and re-designing it with similar construction techniques and the same timbers as the best violins. The epitome of the Gibson mandolin, which has been copied by thousands of mandolin makers ever since, was the 1923 Gibson Master Model mandolin. In the latter part of the 20th, and early 21st century, a very talented luthier named Charlie Derrington joined Gibson. Charlie first came to notoriety when he restored the 1923 Gibson Master Model mandolin of Bill Monroe, the father of Bluegrass Music. Bill’s mandolin was almost demolished by a vandal who broke into his home and smashed two of his mandolins into hundreds of very small pieces. Charlie Derrington, in an example of his great craftsmanship and a labour of love, painstakingly restored Bill Monroe’s mandolin to playability. Not only playable, but to deliver an astonishingly brilliant tone and volume. Charlie went on to oversee Gibson recover its premiere place as the world’s leading mandolin maker. Of all the mandolins made during the Derrington era, Charlie personally signed about 80. I have the very great privelidge to be the owner of one of the best examples of musical craftsmanship. I have played some of the world’s best mandolins including a 1923 Lloyd Loar, and owned other mandolins including a Gilchrist Model 5 and a Gibson F5 fern. I have played for nearly 35 years, known the best that is on offer, and it is the mandolin I play every day. I hope Charlie is in heaven and is aware of the legacy he has left. Thank you Charlie Derrington. Please visit my gallery “The Loar According To Derrington” on pBase for further photographic examples of this wonderful instrument. What kind of man are you, if you can’t front with your “Totes” brolly. My boy “T”, knows that the only way to accessorize on a wet ass night, is to slang your black umbrella. When summer comes to Chicago, (if it ever does), T will be pimp’n his white parasol, and matching Jil Sander kicks. Damn T has some “couture-ass” style yo’. (I’m a “metro-sexual” too.)
Photograph of some of the wine labels I designed. This photo was taken at the winery. This is a small winery just outside of Napa, California
In case you hadn’t noticed, this wall is made of brick. Chalk graffiti found on brick wall.
To be able of laughing at yourself is a good quality, that I don’t have. Therefore I made this to satirize(?) myself, but in a way only I can understand. This was conceived in two parts, this is part one. Part two is here.

GD / Ever since I started making designs in Photoshop I loved how those “transparent” blocks looked in the open areas. However they are always lost ofcourse since nothing’s there. Therefore especially for this design I recreated those lovely blocks, they even change colors! =) Detail image: / Other T-shirts: / /

I really like the unique shape of the bread tag, something that you see often but rarely pay attention too. This shirt is customisable to any word/number combination you wish. Also available for dark colours !!
I downloaded a barcode translator. The code is my name, my date of birth, my phone number and the word uneducated. I don’t expect to sell this. I would much rather people start making their own. Its my little shout against the generic labeling of us all.
After waking to thick smoke each morning for the last week or so….unfortanetly its that time of year again…a permit is required after the end of this month to do any burning off and everyone has decided to do their bit and throw a match in!!...a few have gotten away but thankfully have been retained…took this image of Johns back with his jacket on and tryed to blend a fire image with it…*) DebsPhotos
Time to kick off the shoes, and sit back with a nice glass of red, a baguette and some smooth fromage. Reminiscing on a trip that finished far too quickly, anyone care to take a trip with me.
