...a late-medieval allegory on the universality of death: no matter one’s station in life, the dance of death unites all. The butterfly symbolises the fragility and beauty of life while the crow represents the ever present shadow of death. (c) Sarah Moore 2008 Background used with permission
Lauren La Rouge- fabulous Sydney based Burlesque performer. / This latest shoot with my favorite model/performer started disastrously with my studio flash not working and my backup dying as well. I had a professional hair and makeup artist in and it was all a bit embarrassing. However, I plowed on, abandoning the lighting ideas I had been toying with and using the light from the two spot lights on the ceiling and concentrating on pose and composition. / This is where photoshop and digital photography is such a revolution. / I salvaged a bad situation and created images that I am very satisfied with.

I am very happy on April 25, 2009 this photograph was featured on the HOME PAGE of RedBubble. As Shelley Heath kindly explained to me, Anzac Day in Australia is a day for remembrance of those lost through war. Red poppies are used as a symbol for remembering the fallen soldiers. April 25 already was a special day to me: it’s the Legal Holiday of the Liberation of my country, Italy, as well as my grandma’s birthday. Thank you for making it even more beautiful. Here is the Screen Shot of the Home Page: Just a few info about this picture: - It was taken with a point & shoot camera; - Most of my pictures are almost SOOC, I don’t like editing them with Photoshop or other software. I may use some filters, but all things I could have done with a ‘real’ filter, if I had it. My equipment is made up of only a camera and a lens now, unfortunately. / To me using Photoshop is indeed a kind of art, but not something which has to do with ‘photography’. - I love those power lines. I wanted them to be in the picture. This is my personal idea of composition. Everything doesn’t have to be perfect, to be beautiful. HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF THE ITEMS YOU CAN BUY: / If you are interested in any of them, please click the buy / preview button above and select the features which best suit your needs – Thank you very much! *
/ CLICK THIS IMAGE TO READ MORE ABOUT IT! What you see here is the fourth of seven works of art to be posted over the next seven days – the results of a seven day smackdown between myself, and the fabulous Angi Sullins and Silas Toball – where Angi made a traditional collage, and then gave it to Silas and I, letting us loose on it with our photoshop skills. :) Angi’s original handmade collage: / And Silas’ smackdown entry: /
