  • Kundalini is the divine energy. She manifests both in the cosmic form, encompassing all of creation, and in the personal form. God creates the universe by producing subtle energies in an act of divine will. This can be compared to the process wherein sparks are generated from a single source of fire. The individual manifestation of Kundalini is like a spark of cosmic Kundalini. This personal form of Kundalini is responsible for the creation of the individual. In the physiological process of development of the fetus in the mother’s womb, the head and brain are formed first. Next, the spinal cord is formed from the nerves that branch from the brain, and at the same time, the trunk is formed. Then the extremities, the hands, and the feet are formed. The totality of the nerve centers in the brain is referred to as the sahasrar chakra. This is the root of the process of creation. There are six different chakras, nerve centers, in the spinal column. The first center, located at the base of the brain, is the ajna chakra or the spiritual eye. This center is formed immediately after the sahasrara. Then five different centers which represent five different elements, or tatvas, are formed. The last center formed, the mooladhara chakra, is the furthest from the brain, located near the lower end of the spinal column. The Kundalini thus starts creation at the brain center, progresses downward along the spinal column, and completes Her work near the lower end of the spine. After the completion of Her work, She lies dormant there. Spiritual evolution is the result of the awakening of the Kundalini and Her upward travel from the bottom of the spinal column to the brain center. As She travels upward, the individual develops deeper and deeper spiritual insight and life becomes more fulfilling. When the Kundalini completes Her travel to the brain, the individual attains liberation, understands his or her true identity, and is established in eternal happiness.

  • Kundalini is a psycho-spiritual energy, the energy of the consciousness, which is thought to reside within the sleeping body, and is aroused either through spiritual discipline or spontaneously to bring new states of consciousness, including mystical illumination. Kundalini is Sanskrit for “snake” or “serpent power”, so-called because it is believed to lie like a serpent in the root chakra at the base of the spine. In Tantra Yoga, Kundalini is an aspect of Shakti, the divine female energy and consort of Shiva. / The power of Kundalini is said to be enormous. Those having experienced it claim it to be indescribable. The phenomena associated with it varies from bizarre physical sensations and movements, pain, clairaudience, visions, brilliant lights, superlucidity, psychical powers, ecstasy, bliss, and transcendence of self. Kundalini has been described as liquid fire and liquid light. / While the awakening Kundalini may be a dramatic experience, the resultant shift in consciousness may be accompanied by years of Kundalini symptoms manifesting in physical and psychological upheaval. / The process of Kundalini awakening can vary greatly from person to person. Some have intense physical symptoms, while others experience mainly emotional or psychological symptoms. It is as if the new energy invites a spring-cleaning of the entire system ... The life transforming changes which accompany a Kundalini awakening cover the entire physiological, emotional, mental and spiritual spectrum. / Many clinicians still regard phenomena associated with spiritual emergence as indicative of pathology because the signs are so easily confused with the indicators of psychosis, mania, depression, schizophrenia or borderline personality disorder. Many people undergoing spiritual emergency are misdiagnosed and treated with suppressive medication, further complicating their process/experience. • In dreams, trees are the symbols of individual growth and development through life. Roots are the foundation: strong and deep means connection with spiritual source; shallow is poor support, unaware of inner strength. The trunk represents the backbone or source of strength. Limbs are talents and abilities, opportunities for self expression. The leaves are the many manifestations of your gifts, the results of flowering or producing in the world. This tree was photographed on Paradise Island, in the Bahamas and was a spot we loitered around alot while there for a week…a most powerful teacher and a magnificent standing person.

  • KUNDALINI, in the Hindu image is of a latent or “earth” energy, symbolically represented by a sleeping serpent coiled at the base of the spine. Through spiritual discipline, the KUNDALINI is roused so that a serpentine flow of life force moves upward through the etheric body via a series of chakras. These elements of self, if properly developed, pass it on in steadily purified form to the crown chakra, there to blaze out as enlightenment. / Awaken the Snake…the KUNDALINI fire within / to tap into your life force, spiritual power, Holy Spirit or God energy! / Our ROOT chakra, where the ‘snake’ resides, resonates to the color RED and is concerned with physical needs and basic human survival…don’t you think it is TIME? An apophysis beginning, merged in photoshop7 with snake photos, flame and lots of tweeking ;) / /

  • Snakes are reptiles, cold-blooded and requiring heat to bring them to an active stage. They are found around the world, except for the colder regions. There are about 2,500 species of the suborder Serpentes or Ophidia. About 10%, or 250 species are poisonous, but only half this number have sufficient venom, sharp enough fangs, or are large enough to threaten humans. They have flexible backbones, loosely connected jaws, and no legs or moveable eyelids. / Snakes or serpents were very early symbols of the Great Mother Goddesses, having dual spiritual meanings, even when shown singular: life and death, solar and lunar, good and evil, healing and poison. Because it sheds its skin, this creature became a symbol of reincarnation and immortality. The snake was considered to be the embodiment of all potentials of a physical, material and spiritual nature. This image was began in Apophysis and edited in Photoshop7. Serpentine Fire

  • I went to Toronto with my mother who was there to attend a full-day yoga session. My mother practices kundalini yoga and is actually currently doing her teacher-training. By coincidence, I walked by the church where the event was held just as they were having a short break. I got to say hello to my mother and see how she was doing so far. This woman was just resting against a tree and presumably reflecting on the events of the day so far. From what I understand, it is a grueling day of long meditations which can often leave you drained and emotional.

  • This one’s just for fun, and went thru a few morphs to get to this version here. The cobra snake, or naga, is a symbol of Lord Shiva and a symbol of the Kundalini power. So what we ended up with is a sort of grumpy and irritated looking cobra snake with a jewel on his head and a lotus flower.

  • Watercolor, gouache and pencil on board, / 11×14 / 2009 Model: Kambriel One of my latest passions is the symbolism of the peacock, and how it has been associated to immortality and renewal. His feathers were used as talismans and protection against evil spirits. In the Eastern traditions it has been seen as symbols of wisdom, benevolence, compassion and kind-heartedness. The “eye” in the peacock feather is associated to the pineal gland, making of it a sacred symbol. Through the development of the pineal gland one can awake the Kundalini and achieve understanding of the spiritual world.
