I just want to say a thankyou to everyone who’s been writing such nice comments on my work. I really appreciate it and makes me feel good about trying to persue my creative career, starving artist that I may be. I’ve seen other sites similar to this but I’ve had such a great experience already and have had more freedom to upload content than other sites that I’ve really been impressed and I just arrived here a few days ago! I look forward to hearing more comments and welcome any questions or requests that you may have! / Thanks all! / Asia :)

And the Winners Are….. / Well everyone, this was mission impossible, to choose the winners of these 2 contests. It took most of Saturday and Sunday to decide. Some of the RedBubblers were disqualified for not sticking to the rules of each contest. I eliminated everyone that didn’t put the the tag words bluemooncomp or moonphotocomp (depending on the contest). / I also eliminated everyone that had multiple entries under using the above tag words. And I eliminated others for not following the rules for the image (i.e.- no use of my “Blue Moon” in the Blue Moon Comp. Sadly, there were some excellent entrants that got disqualified. / I went back and forth trying to figure out the winners. I swapped winners so many times that I lost track. My sister and niece helped with the selection. In the end, there were too many excellent works of art and too few places. / I am preparing a contest for next spring that will be a little better organized and make it easier for people to understand the rules. I am starting to work on the prizes so that I can have some extra bonuses for the winners next time. I will announce the next contest sometime in January. Here are the winners for the Blue Moon Comp. / First place goes to: / Creations II : Until the Universe Learned to Expand by Snowdog / / The 2 second place prizes go to: A moon for derid by richiedean and Blue Moon over Morgan by lizard911 There are 5 third place prizes: Blue Moon Contest by quin10 Blue Moon by Per Einar Gunnarsen Blue Moon Comp by koukei Wild Blue Yonder by David Jackson The Big Break Theory by Photobloke The winners for the Moon Photo Comp will be posted in a seperate Journal tonight or tomorrow. / The prizes are as follows / First place: A large size mounted print of their entry (if the winning entry is not large enough for the large size, they will get the next size down) / Two 2nd place winners: Large laminated prints of their entries. / Five 3rd place winners: Each will receive a card of their entry. Kudos to all the winners. I just want to say that this was incredibly hard to judge due to the quality of the entries. So a big congratulations to all the other entrants in this contest. All entries were on the exceptional side. / Deri

  • Here’s my little bluebird boyfriend again. He’s quite a ham. Loves to pose and loves to peek into my shooter’s blind to check on me. (Don’t worry, everyone. I don’t shoot with a gun, only with a camera!) When he comes to the nesting box with goodies for the kids, he perches a while before feeding them and kind of shows off the stuff like he’s proud of his catch. Here he is with a big grasshopper. I thought it would be a nice image for a card to congratulate someone on a job well done.

I recently purchased a mounted print and a canvas print from redbubble, and I just had to say both prints are of extremely high quality and both turned out just perfect. Once they are framed they will be appraised, and I suspect at a much higher value than what was paid for them. I am very pleased with the work redbubble did on both prints. So Kudos and thank you so much redbubble staff for the excellent work you do!! / I will upload photos as soon as the prints are back from the framers.

Wow. Having entered two challenges now in the Melbourne and Victoria Group (don’t ask), may I just send kudos and a couple of we are not worthies to whichever of the RB elves designed the challenge thingy. It’s brilliant!! Brings up all the entries with no names – so everything’s nice and even / Shows you which of your shots you have in the challenge. / Shows a sense of humour when it says “Yours doesn’t come up because we know you’d vote for it anyways!” / Shows a running tally of how many votes each piece has after you’ve voted for it (or not). / And is generally a shit hot piece of computery goodness! Well done guys!!

I’ve been uploading a large project I was working on most of last year…while doing that I’m surfing through Red Bubble and the inspiration factor is exploding my mind! It’s thrilling to see the creativity here, and the skill level in which it is being expressed. So much originality, and fresh concepts. I’m really proud to be part of it. Red Bubble is a very cool place.

This painting, I just found out, rather by accident, has been featured in ADAWG. Not gong to take the time to look up the link for the group, as I am thoroughly convinced anyone who is looking at my work already belongs to it; or, at least, knows where to find the link on other works of mine. Thank you for the feature, and if I say thank you some more again, later, it is only because I’m scatter—brained! Now, the All Things Orange Group: I wrote about them on this same painting, as it was firmly rejected in all aspects of it that were uploaded at the time. I posted that on the description, along with my email to the co-hosts. One of those co-hosts replied back to me, wonder of wonders, and then went even further than that, by acknowledging that they were probably the person who rejected them and telling me to submit them again. The ones that I did submit again were accepted. They were right about one of them, though, for, even though the whole painting is predominantly orange, it really didn’t show in one detailed scan I had uploaded. I think this is an attribute among co-hosts that should be praised, and followed as an example. What she did was wonderful, and it would have still been wonderful if I was wrong, as was pointed out by the fact that in one part I was very definitely wrong at the time. Come to think of it, my example should also be praised and followed: I read the rules, I posted, work was rejected, I re-read the rules and group description, I contacted all the co-hosts (letting them know this was happening) and asked for information without calling anyone a filthy name. I know, from my stint as co-hosts of a group, polite queries and lack of filthy name-calling really make a co-host feel more like replying; especially, most especially, when coupled with a good reason for the query even existing. Anyway, I did very much appreciate the response. It was mature, responsible, friendly, but not overly apologetic: very good response for a host of a group. Thank you ADAWG, you lovely beings, for the feature, and thank you All Things Orange for putting up with me, too. lol

  • As Is. This cute image I couldn’t pass up! The perfect bathroom—one of Necessity! This was planted temporarily in our neighborhood elementary school while construction was underway for the new parking lot installations along with the lighting. (construction workers are not allowed inside the school for obvious reasons as well as liability issues). This superman potty pretty well fit the bill, I felt. With out construction folks we would all be in a terrible fix. Hats off to them, plus it helps create a lot of needed jobs in this state. Good work, great jobs, fine folks, needed income, jobs done. A real win-win situation on BOTH sides of the door. Camera: Panasonic Lumix Mega O.I.S. 5x Optical zoom DMC-LZ8
