The Petronas Twin Towers. / / HDR mode. No matter what angle, what lens, what camera body you use to capture this magnificent building, you will never capture its sheer size and beauty. This was a see-it-to-believe-it moment for me. / - – - / Taken with a Sigma 10-20mm, 77mm Keep polariser, Manfrotto Tripod, and Canon remote shutter release and HDR. Exit: f/22 @ ISO 100, for 22 seconds with +2 bracket exposures. / / MORE WORKS FROM MY PORTFOLIO /

  • Stare
    by Noor Shazemeen

    US$3.99–US$91.20

I was in Butterfly Farm Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to gather some photos for my advertising assignment. And I was totally taken away by how the Red-eared Turtles were staring at the sky, as if there was something fascinating going on in the sky. Red-eared Turtles also known as Red-eared Sliders ( scientific name: Trachemys scripta elegans), native to the Southern United States. They are mass-produced in SE Asia for the pets market of the US and Europe.(Information provided by Thomas. Thank you for helping me to understand this species better.)

  • A moment alone
    by Tamara Travers

    US$3.99–US$91.20

WINNER in the Don’t Bother Me challenge in Mood & Ambience. / Featured in Alphabet Soup (letter M). / TOP 10 in the Temples, Chapels, Ruins, Pylons and other Historic buildings in First Things. / TOP 10 in That One Great Shot Challenge in First Things. / TOP 10 in the A Moment Alone challenge in Mood & Ambience. / FEATURED in the My Magic Place. / FEATURED in the World. / TOP 10 in the Architectural Shapes Challenge in the Shapes and Patterns Group. If I was to choose the most favourite work of out all the pictures that I have ever taken, this one would be by far the NO 1!!!!! The Masjid Negara Mosque is considered one of the most beautiful mosques in SE Asia and truly deserves its status. I love Islamic architecture in general for its clean and elegant look. However, this building’s architecture is quite unique. For me it looks like a beautiful combination of Islamic and contemporary minimalist styles. Its simplicity, clean straight lines, bright uncluttered space give a great feeling of peace, calmness and relaxation. And when I took this picture I didn’t try to create a special super interesting composition of it, I just wanted it to feel as real and as simple as it was. And I wouldn’t change a thing!!! Funnily enough, many people see absolutely nothing in it! I often ask whoever I know for their opinion of my favourite photo, and the most common response is “what about it?”… But , I suppose, as many people as many opinions and I am glad that there are people on RB who like this work and see what I see in it!!! Thanks a million to the host of the World Group for the feature!!! MORE ARCHITECTURE ART HERE Spiritual Homes…

  • This is Jamil and his cats. When we met him just over a year ago he had rescued over 70 cats from the streets of Kuala Lumpur, Maylasia. He is truly an amazing man, he lives in a small flat with all his cats. Most nights you can find him outside the convenience store, collecting money for his beloved companions. It is wonderful and totally unbelievable – the cats sit on the bike for about 4 hours a night without getting off. They have a special communion with Jamil and respect him. But they only listen to him in English and not Malay! If they do start to stray, he chastises them in English, and they get back on the bike again. I think there is a rota for his pussies, they take it in turns to come out for the night. If you are interested in this pic then please see my others: Kuala Lumpur Moped Cats and Cat Man Too

Sometimes he takes about 30 cats out in his car, with a couple of the bonnet – he nearly causes the occasional car crash! • Towering Reflections
    by JimFilmer

    US$4.83–US$110.20

Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur. As seen providing wonderful rippling refelction across the infinity pool. Camera stabilised against a chair – 1/3 sec shutter speed.

  • Gliding Ray
    by JimFilmer

    US$4.83–US$110.20

A wonderful stingray found in the aquaria in Kuala Lumpur. So not to disturb the fish or get reflections using a flash, the ASA was up at 1600, thus with f4 could have the shutter speed at 1/80 – hence a very grainy finish.

Capture this in the recent Thaipusam festival at the famous Batu Caves, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I noticed that day many devotee, in particular the female, use yellow powder (looks like curry powder but I believe it could be a ginger powder, next year I will ask them to find it out) to wash their face. / My friend, Richard, had written an excellent article for this religious festival. • ...the rainbow...
    by Geoffrey Dunn

    US$5.32–US$121.60

I must have walked 2 or 3km and got absolutely drenched chasing this photo … to find a space with no powerlines and clear sunset light. When I got closer I looked up and saw gasp a rainbow – being drenched just didn’t matter any more :-)

  • Ginger Love
    by ApeArt

    US$3.99

Jamil loves cats. He also has a rota for which cats sleep with him at night. He is desparately trying to raise money to build a proper cat shelter. This picture shows a wonderful “wet nurse” cat who mothers and feeds any orphans who come Jamil’s way. She is a very loving pussy who seems to have enough milk and affection to go round. The tiny ginger kitten was a new addition that night, he was rescued from a gas station. I thought the other kitten was small until I saw the tiny one! When I met Jamil’s cats it made me want to cry, I had to hold back the tears. by JimFilmer

    US$4.83–US$110.20

Found an open doorway onto the street – always so inviting. – Behind the scenes in the kitchen of Kuala Lumpur’s central train station. A pot bubbling and simmering away, other pots of rice and sauce ready to go.

  • The spires of this magnificent mosque were impressive, but I was drawn to the graceful screens. Taken with Pentax Optio 750Z 1/100 14mm F/7.2 ISO80. It was a very heavy and grey day. /
