  • I was in Butterfly Farm Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to gather some photos for my advertising assignment. And I was totally taken away by how the Red-eared Turtles were staring at the sky, as if there was something fascinating going on in the sky. Red-eared Turtles also known as Red-eared Sliders ( scientific name: Trachemys scripta elegans), native to the Southern United States. They are mass-produced in SE Asia for the pets market of the US and Europe.(Information provided by Thomas. Thank you for helping me to understand this species better.)

  • This is Jamil and his cats. When we met him just over a year ago he had rescued over 70 cats from the streets of Kuala Lumpur, Maylasia. He is truly an amazing man, he lives in a small flat with all his cats. Most nights you can find him outside the convenience store, collecting money for his beloved companions. It is wonderful and totally unbelievable – the cats sit on the bike for about 4 hours a night without getting off. They have a special communion with Jamil and respect him. But they only listen to him in English and not Malay! If they do start to stray, he chastises them in English, and they get back on the bike again. I think there is a rota for his pussies, they take it in turns to come out for the night. If you are interested in this pic then please see my others: Kuala Lumpur Moped Cats and Cat Man Too

He is desparately trying to raise money to build a proper cat shelter. If you are interested in this pic then please see my others: Kuala Lumpur Moped Cats and Cat Man of Kuala Lumpur

Sometimes he takes about 30 cats out in his car, with a couple of the bonnet – he nearly causes the occasional car crash! • ...as I’ll ever get

  • This is a naughty macaque monkey whom we encountered at the Batu Caves near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I love this pic and it has been greatly enhanced by Julie Langford’s skillfull application of a black background. Thanks Jul!

  • The Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This shot was taken on a recent work trip, I was fortunate enough to get a little time off to explore KL.

  • Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur. As seen providing wonderful rippling refelction across the infinity pool. Camera stabilised against a chair – 1/3 sec shutter speed.

  • A wonderful stingray found in the aquaria in Kuala Lumpur. So not to disturb the fish or get reflections using a flash, the ASA was up at 1600, thus with f4 could have the shutter speed at 1/80 – hence a very grainy finish.

  • Found an open doorway onto the street – always so inviting. – Behind the scenes in the kitchen of Kuala Lumpur’s central train station. A pot bubbling and simmering away, other pots of rice and sauce ready to go.

  • Photographed at the Kuala Lumpur Aquaria, May 2008. Canon 300D ; 18-55mm it lens

  • I must have walked 2 or 3km and got absolutely drenched chasing this photo … to find a space with no powerlines and clear sunset light. When I got closer I looked up and saw gasp a rainbow – being drenched just didn’t matter any more :-)

  • Aerial view of the world famous Petronas Twin Towers in the Fog
