Hi guys, this is a LONG OVERDUE colaboration that Kath and I did, she sent me the file aaagess ago, and I’ve only just finished it. =P oOps. Sorry it took so long Kath. a kooky monster for a special kooky person! / watercolour, 2005 I use windsor and newton watercolour paints on partly wet 300gr weight acid free fabriano watercolour paper with big brushes. From start to finish is one mad rush! I love the freedom and accidental nature of watercolour and the fact that I can’t think while I am doing it, I have no real control. Sometimes they don’t work and then sometimes it all just falls together and I am just as surprised as everyone else!

Bears are cool. Though they’re not all flufffy and cuddly natured to be sure. / / Since mid 2000, in North America alone, there are more than 26 people who have been mauled to death by bears. Some of them just babies and in the spring of 2006 a 6 year old and an 11 year old just a year later. Americans have long been aware of the dangers of wild bears but there are times for being more vigilant. / / While a human family is easily satisfied by the contents of a picnic basket, that’s what you look like to a bear. A picnic basket. Especially after a winter of hybernation and giving birth to a cub. Which is exactly what the husband of 70 year old Cecile Lavoie, discovered last year after she didn’t return from a solo fishing trip. / / His search for her ended at a bear dragging her body off into the woods. / / I’m doing this shirt to present the lighter side of these magnificent creatures and point out that they aren’t menacing. They’re just hungry. / / / More Spikerama madness: / /
