Out in the country you find a family of these lovely Australian Native Birds. / They usually hang around in the trees above watching my husband as he mowes the lawn on his ride-on mower, hoping to find a worm or two. / They also have their babies nearby, teaching them how to feed(hunt). / I just love their laugh. / I painted these awhile ago, I enjoy sharing my artwork with you guys. / I hope you love this one as well. / Cheers

Watercolour on Arches paper. / Most birds in the hot Australian climate love the rain. I was taken by this cute fellow sitting on the taps, Looking into the distant storms approaching, welcoming some rain. I painted this in two sittings, after finishing the background with wet on wet, I finished the kookaburra in a more refined wet on dry .
