Koi fish swimming in water garden with the words “Peace” and “Tranquility”

painted in metallic acrylic to combined the look of water and the decor you sometimes find in Thai, Japanese, and Chinese restaurants.
An out of frame picture of Koi…......taken at the koi pond at my local garden centre.
I imagined this leaf garden floating in space. The black background / illuminates blue stars, comets and other celestial phenomenon. The rich colors remind me of an oriental motif. The leaves form patterns in combination with other images creating this dramatic abstract. I also perceive unusual characters floating in space. One of my favorites is the small triangular whimsical figure on the right bottom wearing a brown hat with the large green eye and a green tear. I think my little guy might have taken on more than he can handle in this large expanse of mysterious space. Next to him on the right a koi fish seems to float upwards next to a magical multi-colored butterfly. I also see an orange butterfly at the bottom of the koi. If you look closely you will see other floating fish in this intergalactic fantasy. There are many icons in space that are often referred to as debris, but when we look closer what appears to be ambiguous floating material may also be unidentified horticulture and other unusual objects like red floating lips. There is so much imagery in this abstract so viewing it on the larger format will reveal more projections for those viewers who take the time to project onto this celestial canvas. /
Koi carp acting very cosy!
Aug 2008 – Staten Island Botanical Gardens – Taken as a panorama, using 6 RAWs, made as an HDR handheld. Believe it or not, the fish simply didn’t move very fast and I gave it a shot as an HDR. / Suburban Scenes by Mike Savad Squidoo Lenses

The original is an 8” by 8” daily pastel painting I tend to work fairly tight with my pastels but on this one I decided to work looser. I like the effect of seeing the application of the pastel on the paper.

This one is the 3rd piece with the Amazing Dance Prodigy Rachael Arnwine. This piece was created using only my own original photos; and started with a shot of this swan with nothing else around it… I layered in 2 different photos of koi I shot, and Rachael… then hand drew the wings and “fairy dust”...then layered in several photos of flowers on the water and over the swan’s body and head…... yes…. tons of time! I hope you DIG IT! SWAN WALTZ / By: Dale Crum The emerald lake was fully aflame… in brilliant noonday crystalline shimmers / All the tiny creatures had long since lain down… for a midday summer’s silent snooze / Xavier arose in rich regal auspicious attire… shook the slumber from his snow kissed plumage / Arching his long significant curvaceous neck for all of his kingdom to witness his splendor / Then at the quiet water’s ebbing edge he slowly sipped and sipped and raised his wise head high / Looking out across his cool green watery domain… then silently slipped afloat to launch adrift / Amid his quiet mossy lilied land; where he alone displayed such eminent swimming prowess / In that all too profoundly churning waltz of rituals conjuring up a great grand legendary past / To then abruptly flap and slap the waters hard with mighty wings to summon a summer summit / For in the full glowing blue moon of the previous midnight clear… he had heard good tidings / From the flaming orbs of the one wisest midnight ruler or the blue-green hours of deepest darkness / For from afar didst the Great Horned Owl Otis swoop down with a most urgent message of hope / Of the long awaited anticipated arrival…of that newest youngest scarlet fairy princess to be / The creatures gathered with an overflowing excited exuberance for such a grand encounter as this / Softly as a snow gooses down and fragile as a snowflake in July she did light upon Xavier’s back / Princess Rachael sweetly bejeweled in majesty and magically adorned in glistening breaths of light / Her ruby tresses flowing as rippling red falls of raspberry wine above sparkling luminous wings aglow / Kindnesses and blessings did generously twinkle forth to all the creatures here below / As with joyous generosity she didst bestow upon the emerald lake her bountiful kind offerings / Thus it all began… the deep legends and loving lore of wondrous tales of Xavier’s Emerald Swan Lake / Of Precious Princess Rachael and her soon to arrive fair ruby-haired gentle sister Princess Ashleigh / Their sweet adventurous stories have long since been softly whispered in tiny yawning ears / To ever-so gently nudge rosy cheeked drowsy babes adrift upon the undulating green waves / As mommy kisses and twirls of silken baby hair send the blessed children off to precious slumber / There to kindly dream amid the drone of dragonfly wings with Pixy JUJU drumming her magical rhythms / Tippety tapping upon her vast collection of acorn hulls, walnuts, long-past snails, and turtle’s shells / Setting the beat for the Princess Sisters; and all the creatures to do what they do to dance as they do / Koi tales popping and bullfrogs croaking out the lowest notes; as clicking crickets and goldfinch chirps / Harmoniously blending in to become the peaceful symphony; all too oft neglected lovely sounds of nature / So sit ye down awhile upon the hand-hewn bench neath the drifting willow wisps and close your weary eyes / Tis here ye find that peace forgotten from the calling current of things desired and the funds to own the more / Be still O humans from the bustle and the ever grinding hustle… be free to sit and listen close / For here ye hear… what ye need the most.

To the Babylonians, Phoenicians, and Assyrians, it was honoured as a symbol of fertility. 2. In Native American tradition, the fish is a symbol for mystical secrets, for it can swim to the deepest regions of the ocean and explore its hidden knowledge. 3. In British lore, it was believed that eating fish before lovemaking could enable a couple to conceive a child. 4. The early Christians used the fish as the symbol for the Christ Consciousness. It was widely believed that this symbol resulted from the Greek acronym for \”Jesus Christ, Son of God.\” But there is also the fact that the coming of Jesus ushered in the Age of Pisces the Fish, which encapsulates the mysticism, love, and happiness to which all world traditions ascribe to the fish. 5. In Scandinavia, fish was considered an aphrodisiac, and was popularly consumed on Friday, the feast day of Freya, Goddess of Love – and in her honour Friday was a day dedicated to lovemaking. There are, therefore, many possibilities if you dream of a fish – all good, even if the fish was a greatly feared one like the Shark [a powerful Hawaiian Aumakua]. If there is a possibility of a pregnancy, dreaming of a fish could mean that a child is on the way, and the pregnancy and birth will be uneventful and result in a healthy baby. If the dreamer is in love but is not yet sure about the beloved’s feelings, dreaming of a fish strongly indicates that the feelings are indeed reciprocated. Dreaming of catching fish, either with a pole or with a net, indicates success and prosperity ahead. Seeing fish swimming in a clear pool indicates that a number of secrets about yourself and the world around you are going to suddenly become clearer.” Information Source from MSN Free Dream Dicitonary Astrocenter Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi
