“On wings of knowledge pass the seeds of understanding”. Wings of Knowledge © 2006 is part of a larger body of work in which I abstractly convey storyline progression. This image is the second piece from a three part story (Trihedron). In this story I visually convey the process of gaining and loosing knowledge. Limited edition (20) archival prints are available from my web site: DAViD M. ALLeN This image was created using Poser, LightWave 3D and Photoshop. It combines both 3D rendered models, my own photos (4) and my own drawings (3). The background texture is made of 3 different layered and manipulated photos (close up images of natural textures and cell structures). Text was handwritten within Photoshop using a 6×9 Intuos 2 tablet.

So many of the Soldiers from WW1 came from South Africa, Egypt, Australia and New Zeland. So many had never been to Europe and so many never thought it would be the placed they died on. This is the South African Memorial in The Somme, France.

There were so many of these graves, who knows who is there. Most don’t even have a full body there. They were unrecognizable.

Some people force their way through life, asking for answers to every little question, no matter how insignificant or trivial, simply so they can ‘know’ the answer. They often obsess and can’t quite let go. For them, the truth is out there… For everyone else, there’s Ignorance, it’s bliss. :) (And yes, I’ve recently been re-watching the X-Files, what an awesome show) ;)

My ex once said to me “knowledge isn’t power it’s what you do with it that makes us powerful” (one of the few wise things he ever said…. but I digress) So I was thinking about it and reflected on the Adam & Eve ” story and this is what came out if it.
