This yellow dory was tied to the wharf for the winter. The boat launch had quite a steep angle to it… you can see the ocean far below, so the dory was secured with these blue ropes.I loved the contrast between the yellow boat and the blue ropes holding it securely. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / laminated print / /

This is actually an old favorite of mine that I am bringing back = ) / We all wear a mask for different situations, work, family friends etc. Hopefully there is at least one person with whom the mask is chunked and you are free to be the real you 100% I am fortunate have several of these wonderful souls in my life. So in this I have tied the mask to the wall and wear it no more. Making this really made me think and even ultimately like me for me. I wrote this a few years ago and decided I would never be so caught up in the game of everyday life that I became this person. I hope you like the art/poem. Have an awesome day! Hugs vonne Illusion If a picture paints a thousand words / Then yours must be blurred / I can’t see through the haze / I can’t see past your steel gaze Reflections of the soul / Truths in the eyes are told / but your gaze is so cold In the daily grind that is life / You don your mask / You smile and laugh / Is any of it real / What do you really feel Is it all an act / Just ritual or routine / Stay too busy to notice / This void that runs through your core Will you notice / Will you look up and notice / When I am there no more Will anything or anyone ever really break through / Life they say is an illusion / I am starting to believe the illusion / is you… Yvonne Emerson 06
All of my children have had (or still have) curly hair, I cannot count the number of knots I’ve unknotted… Mila’s are especially bad as she winds her curls around her fingers until they’re completely entangled, sometimes trapping her fingers in the process. I love the quietness on her face in this portrait, and her eye lashes against her cheeks.
