Original Stressie Cat Acrylic painting by Lucia Stewart
Acrylic on canvas. / This is in memory of my cat ‘Moon’ who was very grey…more than blue.
Our kitten captured mid-scratch.
I generally am not a horse fan. Or a country girl. (Even though / I come from a long line of knife wielding half crazed Texas / Indians..) But I couldn’t help myself when I saw these two today. The kitty put its nose right up to the horse’s..I couldn’t believe it..

As is. He was so interested in his paw that he let me get close…...my Sweetie!! Cats are cats not dogs or very furry people. They’re true to themselves and their world view. I respect and love them for this surety of purpose, even though their “catness” confounds and frustrates me sometimes. This particular cat, my Sweetie, is the absolute cat-est cat I ever met! / Canon Powershot IS 2S
Finally My camera shy cat let me get another good photo of him! MY BUBBLESITE
Exactly what the title says!! 12 of my cat paintings brought together in a calendar that is overloaded with cute!
Acrylic on Canvas – 16” x 12” / Original is now SOLD Awwww. Poor kitty! Waking up in the middle of the night because of a nightmare can be a frightening experience…. especially when you’re alone! Sometimes all you can do is bravely seek the comfort of others! I have been working on this piece for the last few days and added the finishing touches this morning after I logged on to the Bubble and read dearest Fa’s AKA frozenfa recent journal entry. My thoughts were with Fa as I finished this piece and so I dedicate this piece of artwork to her! AVAILABLE AS: / Card, Matted Print, Laminated Print, Mounted Print, Canvas Print & Framed Print
I am enjoying painting cats at the moment, here is another tabby with his favourite friend…his catnip mouse. They are such fun to paint. / I have a few more ideas for some cat paintings over the next couple of weeks. Acrylic on canvas / Size: 300mm x 300mm
Frankie, a Ragdoll, has made himself at home as you can see. This shot was taken just before he took a nap on Tuesday afternoon January 6th 2009. In two weeks he has grown quite a bit and is a handful. Leaping, jumping, chasing anything, when he is not sleeping, eating or pooping. He is cuddled up on my husband’s T-shirt, draped over my husband’s office chair in the home office, while I am sitting at my computer. All the light on his head and fur is from the window just behind him. Frankie was rescued from the streets on Tuesday December 23/08 by my son Kevin. White cat in night
Acrylic On Canvas She’s always in this mood, noboby knows why and when it started. Maggie wears this wherever she goes, well, except to school. Her ambition: To fight for the rights of stray cats and be the greatest cat diva who ever lived. You can view and buy my “In The Mood For Cat” creations at my Zazzle gallery:
Size: 8×10 inches / Medium: Acrylic / Support: Ampersand Gessobord This is Hana (means “flowers” in Japanese). She passed on in January 2009. About 8 years ago, she started to show up in our backyard and spent all day sleeping in one of my flower pots. Every time we brought food to her, she hissed and tried to bite. One day, we brought her indoor and she immediately turned into a very friendly cat. She had never hissed at us after that. We concluded that what Hana really wanted was a home. Although she never liked other cats much, she loved human contact. We don’t know her age. Her vet thinks she was an old cat when she passed.
As Is Canon EOS 350D Canon Lens 34mm 1/60 sec F/4,5 ISO-400 / Sushi is a six week old Maine Coon Kitten of the Cattery Kata-Nebari, The Netherlands, Europe / The Maine Coon is a breed of domestic cat well known for its distinctive physical appearance. It is one of the oldest natural breeds in North America, specifically native to the state of Maine, where it is the official State Cat. Although the Maine Coon’s exact origins and date of introduction to the United States are unknown, many theories have been proposed. The breed was popular in cat shows in the late 1800s, but its existence became threatened when long-haired breeds from overseas were introduced in the early 20th century. The Maine Coon has since made a comeback and is now the second most popular cat breed in the world, according to the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA). The Maine Coon is generally noted for its large bone structure, its rectangular body shape, and a long, flowing coat. The breed can be seen in a variety of colors and are known for their intelligence and gentle personalities. Health problems, such as feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and hip dysplasia, are seen in the breed, but testing is available to detect the genes responsible for causing these abnormalities. / Source Wikipedia / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Portrait of Sushi / / / Featured in Cats and Dogs, Alphabet Soup
Kitty was helping me set up for a Still Life shot and at the end, she refused to move out of the way. According to her, “Still Life” does not mean a picture of inanimate objects, but rather a picture of a cat, or perhaps a kitten, being very still. At least she compromised by letting me add a piece of fruit. And so you have, by Kitty’s reckoning, the purrfect Still Life shot.
