A lone pelican standing in the shallow waters north of the Kingscote Pier. He was a good guy, he walked right up to me … within 10metres. Both of us enjoyed our time, but I really enjoyed capturing these photographs! Yes, this has been manipulated to reveal the details of the beak and blow-out the background. This beautiful Pelican landed right in front of me while I was photographing the beach and ocean. Seems he wanted me to capture his good side. Every time I swung the zoomlens in his direction, he made sure to face the way he wanted. Must have spent over an hour here, because shot about 150 photographs! Sometimes real life gives us moments of pure art. I enjoyed a few hours at this location shooting every possible angle. PS. The white thing on the pole is a shell that someone wedged into a crack. Certainly helps enhance the image, doesn’t it?
