  • Taken late on in ‘07 looking across the Dee Estuary from West Kirby, Wirral, towards the Welsh hills. / / Loramae, inspired by this photo (I am honoured) has written, Perfect Purpose which I duplicate below: / / Perfect Purpose / / Threatening low in the spirit… / Certain scents waft through the air… / Human eyes cannot yet behold it… / But your heart tells you it is there. / Awakened abruptly to a second sense… / That visits uninvited to a mind… / A storm is building in the distance… / The selfish winds will not be kind… / Ah…one thinks to hurry to cover… / Invent a list to somehow prepare… / But how does one hide from something… / That has not yet appeared…? / Gird your fearful heart with His promises… / Embrace His words unto your very soul… / Lay your anchor in God Almighty… / Maker of the stormy winds that blow… / This storm has Perfect Purpose… / Nothing has ever caught Him unaware… / Rest assured that you are not alone… / In the midst of this approaching storm, / He, your Lord, is there. / / Words © Loramae 2008 / / Image © photogenique (dave peddie): using this image for any purpose and in any way, without prior permission, may lead to legal action. / / Do check out Greg Halliday’s great portfolio / / / /

  • Taken just off the Middle Eye the middle Hilbre Island in The Dee Estuary on the Wirral. The Hilbre Islands Local Nature Reserve is contained within the Dee Estuary on the north west coast of England. The Dee Estuary is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, a Special Protection Area, a Ramsar Site which is a Wetland of International Importance. The islands consist of three tidal islands, Little Eye, Middle Eye and Hilbre Island. The sunset on this febuary evening turned the landscape into something from another planet. The rocks in the sand staring back at me as I watched the sun cross the horizon.

  • watercolour and ink

  • From my ongoing tarot deck project, this is the 10 of Pentacles.

  • I took the original A Storm A’Brewin made 2 copies +-2EV and ran it through Photomatix’ Tone Mapping Section. / / This is the first time I’ve used this HDR software, but having been inspired by so many Bubblers and the fantastic results they get with HDR, I felt it was high time to start getting involved! / / I was rather pleased with the result. / / © photogenique (dave peddie): using this image for any purpose and in any way, without prior permission, may lead to legal action. / / Do check out Stina Haugen’s wonderfully delicate portfolio / / / / / / note: featured images are, of course, copyright of the featuree!

  • From an oil painting by Lynne M Kirby. Original is for sale. This is based on a view I witnessed at Sandwell Valley Nature Reserve in the West Midlands. I was inspired by the teasels standing out startlingly in sharp contrast to the lake and trees in the background.

  • From an oil painting by Lynne M Kirby. This is based on my two children one bright day whilst on holiday in Scotland. They were having great fun by the sea. Adam (on the right) was throwing pebbles into the water’s edge and you can see where the last one landed as the sea splashes up. He has thrown it with his right hand and you can just see the next stone lined up ready in his left hand! Luke (on the left) watches. Notice his posture – he doesn’t like the feel of the wet sand on his hands!

  • From an oil painting on stretched canvas by Lynne M Kirby. Original is for sale. There’s a small coastal village in Newton Stewart in Scotland called Port William. This painting is based on the view that I saw as I approached the village coming down a very steep hill. The angular geometry of roofs and houses creates a strong composition and the chimney pots sit pretty punctuating the skyline.

  • From an oil painting by Lynne M Kirby This painting is inspired from a view I saw of daisies growing along the edge of the clifftop in the Isle of Wight. The paint is applied thickly to the flowers to give lots of texture. Original SOLD on ebay.

  • Taken from a field over looking Kirby Underdale and the Vale of York on a very foggy early evening in November 2008 this photo shows the fog settling down in the valley beyond a lone tree and hale bale

  • little pink thing
