The Hill of Tara was the Coronation place of Irelands pre-Christian kings, and is one of Irelands more famous sites. This was not an hereditary Kingship, the kings either won it in battle or were chosen for it. Although no buildings survive there are a number of large earthworks still remaining on the hill, some are inside an even larger iron age enclosure known as a Hill Fort. In the middle of this enclosure are two linked ring forts, to the East is Cormacs House and to the West is The Royal Seat. / Rath of the Synods / North of the iron age enclosure is a 2,000 year old earthwork, / The Rath of the Synods, / which is built around an earlier burial mound known as the King’s Chair. This earthwork can be seen in the picture above, the largest mound on the right is the Mound of the Hostages. Further North is a long rectangular area with banks on either side, known as the Banqueting Hall it may have been used as such but is more likely to have been an entrance road to Tara. View On Black

My first main colaboration with Kim .. This is one of kims profile pictures taken with a webcam.. She sent this image to me so that i can have a go at enhancing it.. I first played around for a while with the original image. Enhancing such things as the eyes, lips and general light shadows. Then, i added the lillies from one of my original images… Added another layer this time of the sky (Again an original image) and then merged together.. A final tweak in CS4 and then Lightroom to finish the image….

Sometimes, it is best to go back to the basics, put on the original (film days) 50 mm lens, manual focus, on the Nikon D90 DSLR to take this sunrise shot of Webb Lake at the Babcock/Cecil M. Webb WIldlife Management Area in Charlotte County, Florida. This was a very fun day! Pink Bromeliad Bloom, As Is / The bright fluorescent tips intrigued me! The other petals look like ribbons. / Photo taken with a Nikon D90 DSLR in Macro Mode, manual focus, with a Sigma 17-70 mm lens. Photo taken in the overgrown landscaping of my future home in Port Charlotte, Florida. Have been looking at foreclosures and bank owned properties in southwest Florida since June. This is house number 7 or 8 in my home saga! Closing date is coming, don’t want to jinx it! Then of course there is the “little” issues of selling and finding a job.
