Thank you Molly the Lil Witch, A Heidi for Oscar by Paul Rees-Jones Well You have heard the tale of Molly the witch, / And the doll folk she made in a pinch. The story doesn’t end quite there, / Cause Oscar needed someone fair. Molly’s heart went out to her lovesick little man, / She asked Oscar to put some stuffing in her hand. She used it to make a wonderful girl, / With a cute smile and hair without curls. She called her Heidi and Oscar just stared, / Molly could see how much he cared. Ophelia, was not too impressed / To her this girl was a complete mess. Already she saw her brother’s love show, / Unfortunately for Heidi, she had to go. Ophelia worked out 22 tries, / knowing one would spell that Heidi’s demise. and so we shall wait and see what transpires, / As Ophelia prepares balloons, pits, spikes, and fires.
This was done as a small “in between” thing while taking breaks from revision. My friend Coolness Bears (who has an account here but doesn’t actually make any art =P ) suggested I draw a teddybear on a balloon. So here it is! / As always, if any tweaks are needed, let me know! Kind of reminds me of my Freedom drawing (girl on a balloon), which I hadn’t thought about at first. Done from scratch in Illustrator. Small design available here. /

I’ve put several versions of this clown up since yesterday, but I’ve finally decided I’m happy with this one (and I have the approval of my 13yo son, lol). / I’ve removed the other versions…my apologies to those of you who took the time to leave comments on them! Clown photo is my own work, but I’ve used the eyes from here

I recently got an intuos tablet. / This is the first “real” thing I’ve created while using it. / Other then this I’ve just been scribbling and trying to get used to using it. / I’m pretty excited about it!

I haven’t seen a “proper” kiddie windmill for years! When I saw this outside a shop in Greece, bright colours in the bright sunshine, I just had to take a shot :-) [Sony a350, Sigma 17-70@55mm f:11, 1/160sec, ISO-100]

These things faded out somewhat about the time I was born. They have gained a bit of popularity with collectors and nostalgia fans lately though.
