  • Water spout in the Florida Keys

  • This is supposedly the southernmost house on mainland USA. It’s in Key West where it was illeged that Ernest Hemmingway was given a 6-toed cat from a sailor passing through. Over the years, the island became populated with cats with 6 toes… which shows you what cats are really doing when we’re not looking… Anyway, when I went to take this picture of the famous house, of course the cats had to get in the act. I didn’t bother counting the toes because these cats are actually imported from Belgium, Portugal and England, courtesy of Photoshop.

  • / In the UK we have had the heaviest snows across the country for twenty years. It has created some problems with roads becoming impassable, road accidents and people getting stranded. It has also created a lot of fun with schools being closed, people unable to get to work for a couple of days, kids making snowmen and many generally enjoying the scenery. / Today the sun shone brightly, the temperature rose a little and we had a little rain, all of which caused the snows to melt a little revealing the colours beneath. These trees in a field near Muston in the Piddle Valley, Dorset caught my eye with the grass and bushes showing out beneath.

  • The poor Santa Lucia fishing boat has run aground on this sand bar right off Key West, Florida. The nets seem to be gone, but the American Flag is still flying. We wondered if this ship has been deserted or if someone will return and/or will it refloat. It sure looks abandoned. We pondered if a very visable and traceable Santa Lucia would be abandoned like this? What do you think?
