When the world is driven by passion… / A derelict piano seen on a verandah. Darlington – inner west Sydney Image copyright © 2007, Robert Knapman. Copying and displaying or redistribution of this image without permission from the artist is strictly prohibited.
I found this old piano in an abandoned church. It’s a haunting echo of music played, songs sung, and dances danced.
This is a shot of my mums hands rehearsing for a gig – she (and my dad – who’s a violinist / Scottish fiddler) still play and perform.his image 50% of money raised from the sale of this image will be donated to Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders). Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. Berthold Auerbach What a beautiful and true quote
I love the piano. It is the one instrument that when i sit down to play, it seems that whatever else is going on in my world just falls away and the music and it’s beauty take over. I love it!!!
Sing us a song, you’re the Piano Man.

grunge piano instrument keys whit fingerprint and music key in sepia color tone MUSIC
This is a shot of a piano at my aunt’s house. I’ve been toying with the idea of using it for a piece and tonight, it all came together. I’ve lost count on how many times I have heard someone say “music isn’t what it used to be”. For the first half of my life, it was something parents and adults would say to us as the younger generation. Most of the time to rolling eyes, together with the generational term “whatever”. Now however, I catch myself thinking the same thing when I listen to the radio! Were our parents so wrong? Or do we all become stuck in our ways, sounds and ideals on life at a certain age, and as a result, are less accepting of the changes and fads the younger generation create? Who knows! But this piece reflects just that :) Featured in Live Love Dream / Featured in Mysteries Of The Common Original shot desaturated and added a texture layer from www.deviantart.com free use stock.
