The beautiful gardens of Keukenhof in Holland near Amsterdam. The beauty and color of the tulips set amongst the lush greenery of these trees is just startling. This image does not really do it justice. Whilst the bulb season in Holland is at its height in April, where the fields come alive with color, these gardens are open throughout the summer and should not be missed. This photo was taken on my old Canon EOS630 film camera and scanned from the negative, so it has lost a little resolution and is a little bit soft, but I think you can get a feel for the wonder of these gardens.

The tulip beds of Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands change every year. Teams of gardeners plan the layouts years in advance and plant thousands of bulbs. The tulips bloom for two months and then everything is dug out and the process begins again.

Up close flower in the wonderful garden of keukenhof , Holland / The Keukenhof, crown jewel of Holland’s gardens, seemed a perfectly natural spot to run into royalty. This photo was taken last week Friday 24th April, just two days after Princess Maxima (dutch Princess) and Queen Silvia of Sweden visited the Keukenhof, a flower exhibition on April 22, 2009 in Lisse, Netherlands. This year, the Keukenhof garden is celebrating a special anniversary, recognizing 400 years since explorer Henry Hudson made landfall at the place in the New World they now call Manhattan. Equipment: Canon EOS 30D Lens: EFS 17- 85mm / The Keukenhof is open to the public from March 19 to May 21, it attracts more than 750,000 visitors, making it one of the Netherlands’ most popular attractions.

When all the thinking comes to a calm.. and the heart opens and all you need is to feel.. De Keukenhof is a great place for Tuliplovers.. / I loved the “Parrots” most of all because of the shape of the petals.. either feathered, curled, twisted or waved and their colours are stunning.. soft or very bright ( some even reminded me of mixed waxcolours) / Of course i like them.. i read in an article ‘if you like dramatic tulips Parrot tulips are a great choice..hehe..
