This is a poem about my mother: The lost, and The found of her… / She died tragically (suicide/murder) when she was 26 and I was 7…back in May of this year my uncle sent me an old box I’d never seen before, which held ominous letters written a year, a few months…and right before her death; a pair of glasses, her bronzed baby shoes, cards kept from holidays, and a few other (now sacred) seemingly insignificant keepsakes. / This box would not stop. I had to hide it, so the pull of it did not suck me down again into her ends. / This is a poem about that box. / A repost, as this was only the second poem I ever posted here and I wished it read. :)
What were they thinking when i shot this, was it the moon that was over my shoulder, that they assumed was cheese, or is it a party trick they do by touching their noses with their tongues ? /
Christmas carolers Well not quite but its what sprung to mind as i had just trimmed back a tree inch’s away from their nest with a petrol line trimmer, totally unaware they were there as i only spotted them whilst painting the house afterwards. / They are the common house sparrow and located in a tree outside my office window here at home, thankfully the parents returned to them. Otherwise i could see myself hand feeding them till they were ready to leave the nest. / Geez i have a good heart !! /
