A very big Thank You to David and Kaz, who host the new group Flotsam_and_Jetsam for featuring my Seals_at_Play I am very honoured!!!
My other works: / Strait from the camera… EXIF: / Taken with a Canon EOS 400D Digital. Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1000) ISO Speed: 200 Aperture: f/5.6 Software: Adobe Photoshop CS2 Windows Metering Mode: Pattern Focal Length: 80 mm Exposure Program: Shutter priority Exposure Bias: 0/3 EV Flash: Flash did not fire White Balance: Manual There was a fire at Mount IDA. The smoke came all around us. / It’s strait from the camera. The redness is because the sun was setting and it made the smoke this color. A LARGER view to see more in detail… / (Long side is only 1024 here, and as with border) On The Calender Page / / History for Mount IDA Trojan War / The mountain is the scene of several mythic events in the works of Homer. At its summit, the Olympian gods gathered to watch the progress of the epic fight. But the mountain was the sacred place of the Goddess, and Hera’s powers were so magnified on Mount Ida, that she was able to distract Zeus with her seductions, just long enough to permit the climactic taking of Troy. During the Trojan War, in an episode recorded in Apollodorus’s Epitome, Achilles with some of the Achaean chiefs laid waste the countryside, and made his way to Ida to rustle the cattle of Aeneas. But Aeneas fled, and Achilles killed the cowherds and Nestor, son of Priam, and drove away the sacred kine (Epitome 3.32). Achilles briefly refers to this incident as he prepares to duel with Aeneas during the siege of Troy. (Iliad XX) After the Trojan War, the only surviving son of Priam, Helenus, retired to Mount Ida, where he was surprised and became the captive of Neoptolemus.
This is my beautiful friend Kaz, who was so kind as to sit for me while I pointed a camera at her only days after surgery for bowl cancer. This is a woman to aspire to, her strength and positivity are something to behold. I could never see myself holding up as well as she! Kaz your a gorgeous woman and I love ya! Get better!

/ Tamborine Mountain Botanical Gardens Early Spring“ thankyou Kaz“
This is Kaz Seed, and this photo was taken days after she had come out of surgery for bowel cancer. I had not planned to take her portrait at such a time, but it all happened so quickly, that it was unavoidable. She was a good sport for letting me poke a camera in her face when she was not feeling the best… Still looks gorgeous though! Part of a double portrait I did to enter into the National Portrait Gallery Competition… I didn’t get in, but oh well, next time….
This was a drawing done / with a white painter’s pen on Winsor & Newton Black Paper (140gsm). Would make a great card to say “I love you” or for Valentine’s Day or any other day. Then it was processed with Photoshop Elements. I have been doing some mosaicing and this led me to treat the drawing to imitate my tile work. Instead of two colours it now has about 50 colours or shades. The heart is no longer just drawn but neither is it digitally created. Thanks to Bits & Pieces for featuring this work, / I much appreciate the encouragement. A heart should be soft / but many are hard as rock A heart should be giving / But many don’t seem to be living A heart should be loving / Not hardened against emoting
A gel pen sketch of a beach on 110gsm cartridge / It might be a good card for a Bon Voyage card / or to decorate a holiday home or remind of a holiday place. Shiny shells / Sitting in the sand / Shaped like bells / Still and lying in a band / See the flotsam / Side by side with jetsam / Some of nature’s treasure from the sea / Shapely on the shore waiting for me More than 50 circles in the drawing.
A wonderful white flower in macro detail. Macro is a speciality that I am only just experimenting with. I love the flower but do not know what it is other than wonderful. Would love to know though. / As taken with a Sony Cybershot 4.1 on a cloudy day with no added light. One of the 50 white pics I am most proud of.
Kaz of the pink and purple / Purple for the colour of my love / for my smile / for family / for friends / for those I comfort / for those I advise / for those I offer my example to. Pink for / the rememberance of my friends / who have fought breast cancer / Pink for / those who have lost the fight / the flowers with which I remember / Pink for / those who have won even a temporary respite / those who support the sufferers of breast cancer Hearts for / the love I wish the world / Bows for / the gift of myself I give to those I love / Abstract / for the parts of me I am yet to know / for the parts I am yet to show / Many different programs and effects were used. / I began with photos and shapes / and melded to them express my selfness.
Created this for a new Mum. She can just point to her shirt and not have to speak. Hope it works. Photo taken in a little visited corner of the grounds of University of Newcastle. Cute Cupid fountain in a lovely green setting. / Used Sony Cybershot 4.1 pocket digital camera. / Text added in PSE
Ittsy Bitsy Spider climbed up the water spout, / Down came the rain, and washed poor Ittsy out.. / Out came the sunshine, and dried up all the rain.. / But Ittsy Bitsy drowned and didn’t come out again.. macro shot of Orb Weaving Spider on web.. / then masked in photoshop.. :0)
FROM THE CRITTER Z COLLECTION
Kaz is such a beautiful and interesting model to work with. She always has a unique look and is always inspiring. No MUA or stylist …this is Kaz
This one of my experiments with acrylics on Mont Marte Gesso primed canvas sheets. / It is inspired by the recent storms often around sunset and often coloured dramatically. The frame represents the window I was looking out of. I am just learning to layer the paint, mostly I have used the paint as bg for digitally created works. More than 50 raindrops. Musical Inspiration: I truely appreciate the honour given by the Raw art Group in featuring this pic. / Many thanks to the hosts of the Experimental group for featuring my work, their encouragement is highly valued. /
A Merry Xmas Card created from an original picture created using both gel pen, Artline fine point pen & Metallic Paint Pen. / Photoshop was used to recolour & multiply the image. Merry Xmas I want to say / Have a happy, happy day For the New Year too / Happiness I wish for you. / Musical Accompaniment: More than 50 bits of grass.
For a fellow RB member who never ceases to amaze me with her diligent learning, her vibrant colors, and her spunky spirit! / This one is for Kaz…LINK / Purple for courage, / green helping you grow, / red giving courage / to reap all that you sow. / May your Holidays be filled with color my friend! /
