  • I get a lot of requests to portray beloved pets from photos. Sometimes, when the snap isn’t too clear, I have to ask if the client can ‘dig up ‘a better one. On a couple of occasions I’ve realised I’d used an ill-phrased expression when told the dog is dead. All turned out well and the owners were happy. Mixed media.

  • FEATURED IN IMPERFECTLY. self portrait. acrylic on canvas. my favourite portrait. Currently in a private collection. :) actually to be honest.. this is a painting of my grief. I exhibited the work not expecting anyone to ‘get it’. Not only did people relate but it could have sold ten times over. I felt a little strange allowing someone to take her home.. but I have since been allowed visitation rights. all is well.

  • Camille shows herself to be an incredibly versatile model. Featured in The Woman Photographer Group.

  • Camille knows there is something wrong with the guy holding a hotdog. She just can’t put her finger on it.

  • Praline loved remotes, mostly to eat. Praline was the funniest squirrel I raised in ten years of rehabbing. She held still for shots while investigating everything. She had some breathing problems that resolved themselves and she was eventually released in the woods.

  • The little one is slipping off the perch. You see, her brother had a hold of the side of the cage. I got several snapshots, from which I drew the picture. This is Peter and Wendy, two of my orphan wildlife babies. They were healthy and fat until their release at the wildlife center at about 3 months of age. The reward for caring for sick and injured wildlife is the chance to raise totally healthy babies. Graphite Pencils from 5-H to 6-B / Primsa Color pencils Burnt Sienna and Burnt Umber / 8×10 inches

  • This infant squirrel was carried in the mouth of a Golden Retriever for most of a morning. The owner saw “something” in his mouth, but didn’t check it out for hours. The baby was warm and cozy—and hungry by the time I picked her up. Good Dog. Good Squirrel. It was the second time it had happened in my squirrel rescue experience.I wrapped her in a tissue and I stuck her down my blouse for the ride home. I was a poor substitute for that sweet dog’ mouth, but we made it until she was set up on a heating pad.

  • The Schnauzer pup is still trying to figure out if this is her squeaky toy. Toni, the physically diabled squirrel is looking to mom for another rescue. She’s on my knee

  • The beautiful Talented Tonya Kay (also known as Creature, from Sci Fi channels who wants to be a superhero as well as a dancer on Showtimes Live Nude Comedy)

  • Adam better watch out, eve is out to get ya (featuring the talent of Tonya Kay)

  • ..keeps … well if your tonya, no one would want to stay away.. (featuring tonya kay)

  • Tonya shows us how the curves of a guitar are similar to a womans

  • Eastern Gray Squirrel turns her back to eat an apple.

  • Two of my rehab babies posing after they’d had their formula. Notice the wet legs. If I tried to take their picture before they ate, they would be leaping on me before I could shoot. They went free in early 2009 after being wintered-over. The nice thing about rehabbing squirrels is that they wild-up so fast. Praline and Candy were released in eastern NC.

  • Mom watches through the hedge as the twins graze in the yard of a retirement home in Glendive, MT. They were daily visitors and the residents enjoyed their visits.
