Mr. Migraine / Copyright© 2005 Karl R. Denton Woke up about 2:00am with a pounding in my head, / Woke up about 2:00am with the walls spinning round my bed. / Had a flashback to the days of Gizmo, / And thought I was looking through a goofy colored prizmo. / Turns out it was my old friend Mr. Migraine, / Back again to make me go insane with that never-ending brain pain. Oh God… Another morning waking up with that pounding in my head, / When I was younger sometimes wished I was dead, / Migraines are a real drag, Mr. Migraine I need to get out of bed, / Mr. Migraine get the hell out of my head! I left for work on a bright sonny day, / The kind that makes you think of a roll in the hay. / All the cheer was just a fake how-do-you-do, / I can barely stand the light because it feels like some sort of evil Voodoo. / As long as my old friend Mr. Migraine is here the sun glasses will never come off, / People look at me like as if I’m crazy and when I look back they are all a bit hazy. / As long as Mr. Migraine is here the sun glasses will never come off. Oh God… Another morning waking up with that pounding in my head, / When I was younger sometimes wished I was dead, / Migraines are a real drag, Mr. Migraine I need to get out of bed, / Mr. Migraine get the hell out of my head! Floating high on a prescription buzz, / I’ve got one so bad my tongue feels like fuzz. / On the way home MR. Migraine seems to be taking a break, / I hate that Mr. Migraine makes me act so fake. / He’s playing his nasty old tricks on me, / Because when the glasses come off all I can see, / Is a swirling mess of colors. / This dammed thing is going to get the best of me, / Mr. Migraine please set me free! Oh God… Another morning waking up with that pounding in my head, / When I was younger sometimes wished I was dead, / Migraines are a real drag, Mr. Migraine I need to get out of bed, / Mr. Migraine get the hell out of my head! Getting home my family thinks I’m cranky, / Mr. Migraine and I have been through a long day, / I wish I could remember what I wanted to say, / But Mr. Migraine has taken my thoughts along the way. / Confusion, pain and anger have gotten to close to me, / Mr. Migraine is making me insane. / It hurts to here her say “take a chill pill” because I’m already there, / And my old friend Mr. Migraine has me weaker still… Oh God… Another morning waking up with that pounding in my head, / When I was younger sometimes wished I was dead, / Migraines are a real drag, Mr. Migraine I need to get out of bed, / Mr. Migraine get the hell out of my head! One thing is for certain Mr. Migraine you will never win, / Because giving into you would be a mortal sin. / When the fog clears and the glasses come off, / I can say, I made it through and although I don’t / Remember everything today, / I will wake another day to say… / Migraines are a real drag, / Mr. Migraine I need to get of bed, / Mr. Migraine get the hell out of my head!
Abstracts are my best work, it is who I am, abstract! Oil and Ink on canvas
Can you imagine… Being born into a world that buys and sells you like a piece of meat at a market? Being forced to work long hours that most adults cannot imagine? Being brain washed into thinking that your self worth is zero? Can you imagine… Never feeling the love of family or parents? Never knowing what it is to be free let alone have the hope or dream of freedom? Never being allowed the simplest of human rights? All of the earnings for the sales of items relating to “My daughter is an Asian slave child” parts one and two here on Red Bubble will be donated to the World Children’s Fund. I would like to thank my daughter Shelby for helping in the creating of this and the up-coming Part Two. Original is oil on canvas: 24” x 30”
Don’t talk too much, russian poster of communism fear. During the Russian Revolution a movement was initiated to put all arts to service of the dictatorship of the proletariat. In search of new forms of expression, the Proletkult organisation was highly eclectic in its art forms. In practice it meant that artists had to produce works glorifying the leaders and policies of the Soviet Union. Art effectively became a form of propaganda.Posters and paintings works in Style later known as Socialist Realism sympathetic to the communist government include partisans, hammers, sicle, stars and industrial or agricultural landscapes were popular subjects, glorifying the achievements of the Soviet economy.Artists who could not work within the boundaries of Socialist Realism were send to the labor camps. Artists who chose to paint in alternative styles had to do so completely in private and were never able to exhibit or sell their work. (wikipedia.org)
My daughters school asked me to paint a couple of paintings for there school play a Picasso look alike and a non-nude, nude… The non-nude, nude to follow… Here is my Picasso…
With every brush stroke, a dark figure appears, / Blacks and grays blend in one color, / Leaving behind the shape of Alison’s soul, / Just as it was after the loss of innocence, / Just as it was after an eternity of fear and horror. / / The beauty of Alison exists today, / but with her protector helping her on the way. / Alison’s soul is visible to my eyes, my mind. / She is beauty, caring, warm and loving / She has been all but wiped out but from this life / And as I look at this painting she is screaming to come out. / / “Alison’s soul” is a painting dedicated to the loss of innocence / the unspeakable crimes that betray love and trust. Any sales of items related to this piece will be donated to help abused children. The original is an oil on canvas 22” x 30”
