Neska’s eyes are actually green in colour but I wanted to add to my series of artwork featuring cat’s eyes ( Emerald Eyes, Sapphire Eyes and Turquoise Eyes). There is such diversity in the colours that cat’s eyes come in and I never tire of admiring the beauty of their eyes. This arwork is part of a series entitled “Cat’s Eyes Gems”, which includes Emerald Eyes and Sapphire Eyes. / The pencils used were mostly oil pencils – Faber Castell Polychromos and Lyra, but also used Prismacolor Verithins for some of the finer detail.

7×11 inch portrait of The Auld Yin (Alex Gardiner), done with pastels on Pastelmat. This is my tribute to a wonderful, generous character that many of you may have crossed paths with on RedBubble. He brings tirelesss support, encouragement, a charming wit and humour, to so many artists, myself included. When I stumbled upon his wish to have a portrait done by me about a week ago, I was so touched and humbled, and how could I resist the opportunity to repay, in a little way, some of the kindness he has shown to me and others. I don’t have the way with words that The Auld Yin does, but hopefully, in this case pictures speak much louder than words!!!
