I think I frightened this female kanga. She was eating and stood up to see me with grass in her mouth. She has a joey in pouch.
Just thought I would show the world a rare photo. My hubby and I were driving back from the beach in Suburbia Mandurah. I had just put my camera away (Never put your camera away!!) and around the next corner were four Boomers opposite houses, two of them having a playfight. My hubby backed the car up while i madly got my camera out, I didn’t have time for anything else and I took this pic through the car window. ( A bit blurry but still a good photo I think) If I had got out of the car they would have hopped away for sure. Hope you all like this little bit of Australiana. :+)
red and green kangaroo paws in a face of – others watching in the background.
Took this photo 10 minutes ago, at the end of my street…kangaroo’s being forced out of their habitat due to shopping centres being built.
Part of a series done for a friend’s birthday. Another friend, Jehan Kanga, is the one in the boat – he actually is a brilliant volionist too!
photoshop collage of an old painting (kangaroo I painted on a boomerang) and a photo of a hand painting that all the year 12s did after graduation.

We got up close to these friendly kangaroos near Tom Price.
An example of how at the weirdest of times nature can be generous in its co-operation. I cycled past this at about 7 in the morning and as I had only a few minutes to spare took a dozen shots. Two hours later I came back and the same bird was in the same spot with entirely different lighting conditions. Normally, if I so much of reach for my camera this kind of bird will fly off, but it was still there when I left 20 minutes later replete with shots from all angles, which as usual left me with 2~3 I was half happy with….
Picture taken at my Vets Office (The Cosmic Cat) in Branford, Ct / who saved them. Peck on the left has just three legs and has a beautiful silky coat. He rules the roost. Occasionally he will let you pet him put most of the time be very careful when you stick your hand out to him. Not vicious but he plays rough. Kanga was born without any bones in her front legs and had to hop around like a Kangaroo. The Doctor, with a team, operated on her and place synthetic bones in her legs. She can not walk and run like a normal cat.. She was recently adopted. The moral of the story is do not just write off injured animals.
Who knew they had albino kangaroos in OZ? I learned something on this trip. These guys were very tame and you could actually pat them. This little guy bounded up to my camera and I managed to catch him. Canon 50D / Canon 70-200mm f/4.0L
Taken at Darling Downs Zoo in Queensland.
This sign, near a ridge at Churchill National Park in Melbourne’s south-east has been there for as long as I can remember, but it has acquired deeper meaning in the last four years. The drought means that the kangaroos are venturing further afield in search of food and water – and are therefore more vulnerable to cars on the narrow 80km/h stretch of road. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my work in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/250 sec, ISO 200, focal length 78mm. 117-9609
Hot day at the Miami Zoo, and all the Kangaroos were sleeping int the shade in an observation pit Tried to get as close as possible
