I guess a lot of you know that I lost my Samson two months ago. Well the last two nights I’ve dreamt I had a new baby kangaroo, then this morning I had a phone call asking if I could take on raising another Joey. Well you know the answer. Even though this one will never replace Samson. I will love it all the same. May I present ….Roobie (Ruby) Matilda.

Australian Army Blackhawk Helicopter : This one’s a close up of The Kangaroo that adorns all of our military vehicles, aircraft & vessels… / This is Australia. CHALLENGE WINNER – Military Insignias – October 2009
We were out walking the fairways in the Yanchep National Park when, as is the way with new mums, this one hopped across to show off her new baby – or joey as they are known. She posed quite happily for me as you can see. This is just 50 kms north of the Perth CBD and the national park is the oldest in Western Australia.
I was at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary today which was great fun. This joey was tucked away in its mothers pouch but she decided it was time to kick the joey out. The joey is approximately 6 months old. I watched the whole thing it was amazing. The mother cleaned her joey and the inside of her pouch. Here you see the joey trying to get back in. Mother nature at its best. I was lucky to observe. June 2009 – Top Ten Challenge Winner – Mums and Babies
