This is OJ. Alas, no longer with us as he passed away very young. Here his eyes were just changeing color and I thought I’d try to get a pose out of him. Trouble was keeping him awake long enough to get a shot. Seconds after taking this, he slumped down into the jar, deep in little kitty dreamland. It wasn’t even easy getting him out !

The Royal Botanical Gardens in Kandy has perfectly manicured lawns and flowers in bloom throughout the year. These orchids are housed in the observatory along with a variety of other orchids of all shapes and colours. Some of the most spectacular orchids can be found in the tropical rainforests in the country’s southwestern wet zone.

The main doorway to the Palle Maala (or Palle Maluwa, the lower chamber) area of the Sri Dalada Maligawa or The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy, Sri Lanka. This 16th century Buddhist Temple complex (now a World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO) which houses a Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha is one of the most sacred places of veneration for Buddhists around the world. The Temple has sustained damage from multiple bombings in the past. Deadliest among them was a suicide attack carried out by Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) on 25/01/1995. A bomb laden truck was detonated inside the temple premises causing significant damage to the Palle Maala area (claiming the lives of dozens of innocent civilians and injuring scores of others).
