Sherbrook Forest, Dandenong Ranges.
Sorry about the Albert King title but it fits. I love naming my images after some of my favourite songs. Anyway, this was taken on the Ridge road Kallista in the Dandenong Ranges.

All Aglow Sunrise HDR image / . / Scene is looking NE towards the Warburton Ranges from Kallista. The framing with the foliage was just too good to pass up. Usually there is a northerly wind blowing at this time of year, but on this morning it was totally still. This provided a sharper HDR image than expected. / . / Fuji S9500 ISO 80 F11 1/4s av. / Tripod and cable release used. / Image Size: 5000×3750

Platypus Pond – Sherbrooke Forest (Temperate Rainforest), Kallista, Victoria Fuji Finepix S9500 / 1/52 sec . F4 . ISO80 On arriving at the pond, my wife and I were greeted by a pair of Lyrebirds. The female was busy foraging, with the male bird in tow singing for all he was worth. We just stood still, watched and listened as they came to within less than 2 metres of us. Our private audience with the pair lasted for the better part of ten minutes, before they headed further down the gully. Thanks to plentiful summer rain, the pond is full to the brim at present. Though we did see a brown trout (at least 300mm in size) that came into the shallows to check us out, we didn’t get to see any Platypi. I have it on good authority however that they are present. You won’t find this pond on any maps, and I won’t be posting its location … so please don’t ask. This location and its inhabitants are extremely fagile. I have only been there twice in three years myself. The photo is from a series of hand-held shots taken shortly before dusk.
