  • Eyes are the window to the soul. Have you ever been talking to some one while making eye contact? How long can you hold it without looking away? Wh is it now awkward to maintain the contact through the whole converstation? Why is it easier to look at the floor, thier shirt, (the door if your wanting to make a quick get-away)? / / What is it in they eyes that make us want to look away? Is it because we know that there is a direct link from the eyes to the brain, and that’s where our thoughts lie? Is it where our souls lie? Even while talking to someone and making conversation, im poundering this question. Im trying to maintain eye contact for as long as i can, but there comes a point when I simply have to look away. I need a book on eye contact ettiquet. ( how do you spell that word) Even with my mother and my sister, I am simply unable to hold that eye contact for to long, and at times they are even less able than I am. What is in that soul? What in eyes that make us uncomfortable. Is it the deep clear pools of color? Is it what they know about us and can see it in eyes? I can maintain eye contact for whole conversations with my grandchildren. They are innocent, they have nothing in them that makes me feel uncomfotable. In fact, i love looking in the deep wells of color in my grandchildren eyes. And babies, who would ever think of looking away? With infants you maintain the eye contact for as long as possible. Is it because they are pure. They make no judgements on you, they have so little past, but so much possiblity. If eyes are the window to the soul, then why is so hard to look through them!
