The mid West Australian coast around Kalbarri is particularly rugged and the constant action of wind, waves, and tides over many millions of years have created several stunning coastal gorges as well as three or four amazing creations. This bridge is one such creation and is only visible at low tide. Kalbarri is a popular fishing cum holiday township 150 kms north of Geraldton and getting on for 600 kms north of Perth. As well as it’s coastal gorges it is also famed for some stunning river gorges
Yes, another cliched sunset shot but they are hard to avoid here in Western Australia. Its still a novelty to see the sun set over the ocean. / I would love some feedback on my composition and technique etc.
Thought I would add another image of that sequence. I really like how the sun illuminates the wave. And I was quite impressed by the skills of that guy. / As always – your comments are greatly appreciated! The sun is setting on my right and casting a red glow over the amazing coastline at Kalbarri. This was taken a few minutes before the previous photo froma very similar location. I should add that these are both scans from colour prints taken with my F3 Nikon using Agfa stock.
Z Bend Gorge / Kalbarri-Western Australia On my first proper trip to Kalbarri I headed up into the spectacular gorges. / Walking into Z Bend, one of the 2 main gorges of the region I came across this scene. The late afternoon light reflected off the red rocks creating an amazing site. you can view more of my images at / www.swilliamsphotos.com and my blog / www.swilliamsphotos.wordpress.com

Another job, another place to photograph. We took some holiday chalets to Kalbarri, about 600 kms north of Perth. We did two trips in two days which left us relieved to be staying there overnight after the second trip.
Kalbarri 600 kms north of Perth was a work destination. I took some jetty shots and can’t work out which ones I like best so I thought I would upload a few of them.
Z Bend Gorge / Kalbarri-Western Australia This is another image from nearly the same spot as my other Z bend Gorge photo. I loved the water flow so decided to do a vertical format also, using the rock as a focal point. Once again the magical light topped it off.
