  • Early morning light sets the limestone walls of this old stable and the grasses awash with a red glow. Geranium, Southern Mallee , South Australia

  • Here is another still life from my “Nostalgia” series. This too is created with the “painted with light” technique and digitally enhanced. The typical effect of that technique is less noticeable here though. A wallpaper based on this photo can be found here more nostalgia: / more work / the calendar /

  • / Isn’t another bad day (yet again) on the stock markets the perfect time to show you my latest still life in the “nostalgia” series, entitled: the stock market. / As usual, old and new elements are mingled together. The painted with light technique was used again, as well as digital manipulation to get the end result I was after. / It’s strange, I spent months planning this shot, preparing and getting the props and then in a few hours time it’s shot. It’s almost an anti-climax. / Well, I hope you enjoy it! / By the way, this is the fourth installment in this series, I’m withholding the second one which I consider my masterpiece in this series. I’ll probably upload it in a few days. / °°° / A wallpaper based on this photo can be found here more work / the calendar /

  • The Iguazu waterfalls. One of those overwhelming places. The roar of these giant waterfalls is deafening, there beauty blinding. This shot of “La Garganta del Diablo” was a battle against the spray, but it was worth it. This was taken from the Brazilian side, the far side, a little obscured by the mist, is Argentina. Wallpaper can be found here more work / Part of this calendar / preview / This image has been featured by ‘The World’. / Sold as an extra large canvas print to a mystery buyer. / Sold as a laminated print to a mystery buyer.

  • The roaring waterfalls of Iguazu, a small patch of grass amidst all that watery violence, fighting for survival. / Available as wallpaper

  • / Published in the book Compassion, Courage and Friendship

  • / Another instalment in my Nostalgia series / It was created using my painted with light techniques, if you are interested in the details, here is an article I wrote about them. In this case I set the exposure to 15sec. Equipment used: / - Pentax K10D with a SMC Pentax-M 1:3.5 28mm lens / - cheap flashlight and the camera set to auto WB which it screws up resulting in the nostalgic colours. more work / the calendar / Available as a desktop wallpaper

  • Above the clouds, / the world is golden. A lesser known spot of the island of Tenerife at it’s most beautiful. Also available as desktop wallpaper

  • The title of this photo used to be: Say a prayer for me, with the following description: / °°° / A delicate branch of cherry blossoms, symbol of spring, symbol of new life, carrying someones hope, someones prayers. Such a beautiful tradition in Japan… / °°° But it seems to be that I was misinformed and that the little paper on the tree is not a prayer, but a bad fortune. Here I found the following description of this custom: / °°° / Omikuji are fortunes written on strips of paper available at most Shinto shrines in Japan. There are 12 levels of fortunes, ranging from Great Blessing to Great Curse. When the fortune is bad, it is customary for the person to fold up the strip of paper and tie it to a pine tree branch at the temple grounds, thus freeing the person from the bad fortune. In the event of the fortune being good, the bearer should keep it. / °°° / As you can see, they don’t only use pine trees for it. / More Japan / / /

  • Went for a short ride in my rocket ship today and took this shot. Its actually shot from the lighthouse at Pt Lonsdale. looking up into space! Taken with a Pentax K10D / Sigma 18-55 lens with screw on fisheye attachement

  • Lake Hawea, South Island New Zealand.

  • Along the Drakensberg escarpment in Mpumalanga, South Africa, there is a place called God’s Window. A path leads away from it, up the hill. But I wonder… does it really stop at the top? Should anybody be interested in buying this as a card with text, just drop me a bubblemail.

  • This is the picture that I have waiting for. It was almost magic. It was worth the trip in cold very cold weather to get this. Its a little stream near by my home. / With a touch of Orton´s / 1028 Views Nov 17 2009. • This is the most recent instalment of my Nostalgia series As usual, it was created with my “painted with light” technique that mainly exists out of long exposures and a lot of “painting” with a flash light. / Tutorials on my technique can be found here and here This image was shot during several exposures of 30s on f22 and ISO100 which were later combined using Photoshop. more work / the calendar / the print /

  • / I wouldn’t like to feed the photographers for which this photo is the plain and simple truth. Another instalment in my Nostalgia series although a little different then usual in the set-up. It’s a lot simpler a composition then most of my work, but let me assure you, it was so much harder to get right! Shot with my relatively new Pentax K10D and a very old Pentax-A 1:1.7 50mm objective. You can read all about the technique used in this tutorial more work / the calendar / preview / “Forgotten” was sold as a Medium mounted print to an anonymous buyer. Thank you! “Forgotten” is also freely downloadable as a wallpaper to decorate your desktop.

  • One December morning in the middle of Sweden. / HDR / My HDR technique

  • I have been a little pressed for time lately, you might have noticed my general absence here on the bubble. Today however I just decided to “create” some time in order to be able to give my “art” some more much needed attention. So, I’m able to show you the latest instalment in my Nostalgia series, as usually shot with my Pentax K10D and one of my old Pentax lenses using my painted with light technique more work / the calendar /

  • Rusty using my wellies as a pillow.

  • Taken September 2008. A little stream near by my house. / Taken with my Pentax K10D and Tamron 28-300mm. / f/ 29.0 / Exposure 1/15 / Iso 400 / Focal Length 210mm /

  • / A long, long time ago somebody here at Redbubble asked me if I would shoot a still life with a Teddy bear. Of course I couldn’t say no to such a fine and kind lady. She did, however, have to develop a great deal of patience. :) Here we are, a couple of months after the request. This rather low key still life is part of my Nostalgia series. As usually created using my painted with light technique , my trusty Pentax K10D, and my even more trusty (and a lot older) Pentax-A 50mm 1:1.7 lens. more work / the calendar / Looks great as card /

  • Whiltered and dried hydrangea flowers, still beautiful… I ‘ve been experimenting here with white-balance settings and colours… / The colour-variations are a result of camera settings, not photoshopping :) Photograph made with Pentax K10D camera and Pentax-M zoom1:2.84 4080mm lens Comments and feed-back always welcome. • Rainy Day – walk / Amersfoort NL – Heiligenbergerbeek NS-hiking path (Dec.9, 2008) Going for a hike is a favourite pastime in the Netherlands. No wonder that so many hike-routes are described and signed, so that it is easy for people to follow the route. / For me personally: nothing as inspiring as picking up my camera and gear, and setting out for a hike, be it here right in my own neighbourhood, or a little further away… With the camera in hand, I discover beauty with every step I go! :) These pics were made during an early morning winter walk in Amersfoort the Netherlands – Two weeks before the “Frozen world – walk”, Stephan, a photographer friend and myself the first part of this same hiking path… Most of it in the streaming rain… :( The dikes are such a typical feature in the Dutch landscape… often, large parts are fenced, so that sheep can roam freely on them… :) When the sheep doomed up before us on the path, surrounded by these majestic oaks, it felt to me as is we were walking into another world all together, another realm… Misty, wet, dark and moody weather, but awesome scenery… Hope you still enjoy… (we did!) ;) ...
