Trying something a little different with this shot. Taken at night but modified by increasing the exposure values by a lot. Creates an interesting effect. I also took a Panoramic of the Millennium Bridge and the Quayside. See what you think. Birds Of Prey Christmas Cards Night Scenes Landscape / Scenic

Deb Parkin requested a self-portrait from me. As I am the most un-photogenic person I know I refused. I reconsidered a day or so ago and compromised a little. I have very nice eyes – so my wife says and so this is what I knocked together. Hope you like it
This is the original colour pic of my B&W sunset. I tweaked the colours just a smidgen as they weren’t correct – they’re still not correct but they’re as close as I can get them. It was an evening of spectacular cloud formations and I’m glad I was there to see them. I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping to look – all comments and criticisms are welcome. Shot with my Pentax K100d.

I am so very pleased with how this has come up – it glows! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Thank you for looking – all comments and criticisms are welcome and appreciated.
Raquel and I finally did it. We have chased storms, sunsets, brumbies and after weeks of watching the weather we got a lighting strike. I’m still buzzing, that would have to be one of the best highs I’ve had in a long time.
Old Parliament House – Canberra Old Parliament House, formerly known as the Provisional Parliament House, was the seat of the Parliament of Australia from 1927 to 1988. The building was opened in 9 May 1927 as a temporary base for the Commonwealth Parliament following its relocation from Melbourne to the new capital, Canberra, until a grander building could be constructed. Designed by John Smith Murdoch and a team of assistants, the design brief extended from the building to include its gardens, décor and furnishings. The building is in the Stripped Classical Style, common in Australian government buildings constructed in Canberra during the 1920s and 1930s. / The building was intended to be neither temporary nor permanent – only to be a ‘provisional’ building that would serve as a parliament for fifty years. In 1988, the Commonwealth Parliament transferred to the new Parliament House on Capital Hill. It also serves as a venue for temporary exhibitions, lectures and concerts. Streak and Misty were running through the house this morning like mad cats, Several times they jumped on their “house”, seeming to see who get on the top platform first! When I saw this pose from Streak, I just had to take a pic and hope he stayed still long enough for me to catch him. He’s quite relaxed and looking down at Misty, on the floor below, as if to say, “See, I got here first, it’s MINE!” (Streak is still officially a kitten although he’s now bigger than Misty who is 18 months old) I hope you enjoy this moment as much as I did. Thanks for looking, all comments and criticisms are welcome. Taken with my Pentax K100D and Sigma 28 – 80 mm lens, tripod-mounted.
This is the pic I’ve been trying to take for about 48 hours now, and finally, I’ve got it! I couldn’t have done it with the help of Bill – thank you so much, Bill, I appreciate the help you’ve given me. I’m one very happy old chook now! All the teeth-grinding frustration finally paid off. The red rose is named “Black Beauty” and the white/red one is named “Scentimental”. Black Beauty is one which my husband planted for me last year and this is the first time it’s flowered – it opened on 16.10.2009; Scentimental opened on 15.10.2009. I had hoped to post this wihtout touching it other than enlarging but, as usual, my tripod was crooked so, I’ve had to straighten it and then crop it to remove the resulting crooked edges, before enlarging it. The technical goodies: Pentax K100D, and Sigma 28 – 80 mm lens, tripod-mounted; / Manual mode: ISO 200; 10 sec exposure (2 second delay timer); 55 mm focal length; f/22. / Lighting: A small LED desklamp (about 20 bulbs in it) mounted on a free-standing plant pole and a small LED torch (7 bulbs in it).lying on the table at an angle to the vase. Camera was between the two lights.
