Its a pity this one doesn’t have a name yet, its much larger than most of the works I make. (Originally made in October 2008). Spray paint, acrylic washes, and ink.
I piece that I had in the works for over a year, that started as a drawing initially before its completion. I started a few other projects (which is typical, because I’ve always got several going at once) and didn’t know what to do with it when I came back. However last year, I was reading through one of my favorite magazines: Juxtapoz, and was inspired create something with a little bit more color theory to it. Ingredients: Gesso, India Ink, spraypaint, acrylic, and latex on canvas.
Originally, when I had shared this during critique, this painting was arranged to be viewed upside down from what you see here. Even now, I find myself changing its orientation on my wall. Ingredients: gesso, witch’s brew ink, india ink, acrylic, and watercolor.
Experimenting in the same fashion as “Another and Another and…” which, is a part automatic and part controlled, additive and reductive process. I’ve decided to just call it “Brutality” for now, but it remains nameless. Ingredients: india ink, book pages, acrylic, prisma markers, and gesso on canvas.
This is about my inability to retain large doses of material that I’m forced to sponge up.
Another image I had hidden away in my cave for years, and only just this year had shown at Rubber Gloves for “The Feeling is Mutual” show.
